Just make sure you buy a good eater /feeder .. ideally buy off someone who’s been recommended to you .

A healthy , good feeding Royal can be as great as you allow .. they’re great to handle ( for anyone and everyone) as they are so placid and slow moving .

I get mine out , sit down and let them crawl over my lap /legs and just keep directing it back on to me / after a few minutes they normally just settle down and rest on me whilst a watch a bit of telly

If it’s in a tub / viv with just a hide and a water bowl it probably won’t be very interesting but put a load of branches in and they will explore and climb all through the evening ( branches from woods or local parks )

we have six and they all vary in temperament. some are pet rocks and others zoom around more than some of our corn snakes. half will eat FT like clockwork and the other half are pickier.

Can you be a bit more specific?

What questions are you looking for answers to?

What are you hoping for out of a pet BP?

Their temperaments are 99% friendly though aren’t they ?

In all my years I’ve never come across a bitey Royal .. some great feeders but never one I wouldn’t trust

You've not met my snakes. I have two that are quite bitey. One will bite even when held, the other only bites in the cage. But it does try to strike me on a regular basis through the glass! Most are mellow, I think these are not the norm with BPs. Out of 13 snakes (11 bp and 2 corn) they are my aggressive ones. I have a pair of leather gloves I put on plus a sweatshirt to cover my arm if I have to do anything inside the cages for them, not a big deal.

I agree that some more specific questions would be helpful. If you wanting to know what their like in the day time just put a stuffed animal in a tank. They move about the same during the day anyways :P If you are a late night or real early morning person you can catch them moving around. I usually wake up between 3-4 AM and catch the tail end of my snakes being active. They can be picky eaters at times. I love watching them eat though.
