    Live Feeding Questions
    Question about feeding live

When you feed live do you just drop the mouse in the enclosure and wait for your snake to come out and get it?

Or do you get your snake out of his hide first and then drop the mouse in?

Also, do you move all the clutter out of his tank before you feed or do you feed with everything set up normally as you would?

Ik feeding live is not ideal but it’s whats been working for me so no need to tell me I should switch to F/T as I already know that.

thanks in advance for your help <3

I have had my BP for 2-3 years now and she’s always had live. I take her out completely and put her in a separate cardboard box and wait until she fully swallows it and then I put her back into her tank!

How ever you feed live (I don't do it), tap the snake to make sure he/she is awake. You don't want the snake injured from the prey, same reason you don't leave the live prey in for xx minutes.

    Good luck!

It is best to wait until the snake is in 'hunting' mode - sticking its head out of a hide or cave in the evening. If not, you can drop the mouse in and STAY with the snake. The smell can entice the snake out. Never leave the rodent alone with the snake.

I’ve heard that you shouldn’t move to feed them because it can cause regurg and that enclosure aggression is a myth and it’s more stressful on the animal to move to feed rather than just feeding in its enclosure

I’ve never had issues , she’s never regurgitated it, I never EVER leave her unattended, been doing it for 3 years, I take her out whenever and as soon as she smells it she’s awake and a lot of times takes it right out of my hand before I can even drop the rat in the box!
