What kind of wood for a rat rack?
What kind of wood should i go buy for building a rat rack? I don't wanna build it with something that's toxic to them and end up with dead rats. Let me know. I'm new to building stuff. Thnx.

Pine or fir is fine. There are a lot of rat rack threads around that will give you some good ideas. Here's a thread about my rat racks. I got the plans off of Tim Bailey's website.

I've been using firring strips from Lowe's. Only a couple bucks per 8' length and the size has been perfect. Approx 2 x 2".

Whatever you decide to build your rack out of, don't use treated lumber. Treated lumber is toxic.
