I've already got 7 claimed, plus I plan on keeping maybe 2 or 3 of them myself. I have yet to post the rest up for sale online as I was hoping for some bites locally. I'm working on getting shipping figured out, as I'm encountering some technical errors, and after that I'll post them up on online. lol

I unfortunately ended up deciding it was best to euthanize the runt end of Sept. I also lost another one of the fish eaters at the same time. :( It ate 2 or 3 meals and was still losing mass so I decided to euthanize it before it died on its own. That brings the total up to 4 dead. The rest are healthy, eating on their own, and getting less and less picky! Not bad odds after hearing how delicate babies can be.

I have nearly everyone eating unscented ASF parts now, some just need to be left alone for a few mins. So that’s a relief, and saves a lot of time. I also shipped off 7 babies so far, so the herd is starting to thin.

Sorry you lost the runt and the other 3 in total, Cloud.

Glad everyone else is doing well!

It’s an unfortunate reality of breeding. I was prepared for more losses, but I am glad that isn’t the case yet. I’m hoping being at the 2 month mark I’m past the worst of it and everyone else will grow up strong and healthy, I usually hear the first month is the period where most fail to thrive.

Last feeding I got 2 more babies to eat unscented ASF! So hopefully this next feeding I can get one or two more. My holdback unfortunately was one that insisted on the worms, but that’s ok. Freya is still not eating rodents, either, so they won’t go to waste. I’ll just have to start buying one pack instead of two. Lol

Hope the rest keep doing well for you. Tough to lose even a few.

Just a little update. The holdback I took photos of at the beginning of the thread still refuses to eat anything but earthworms. Last feeding, it took a half of a mouse pink, but I think it just missed the strike. :rage: I've only lost one since the first few failure to thrives, and it was totally out of the blue since they're 4+ months old now. I'm quite glad they're eating halves now instead of chunks. Easier to give everyone organ meat, and it saves a tooon of time vs waiting for them to find every little chunk. Except for when they go into shed, only the one holdback is refusing rodents now. My two 1:5 ASF colonies just couldn't keep up with the garters, so I had to start ordering pinks instead and they take the mice a lot more reliably.

Here are some of Lee's remaining babies.

Babies are going through another shed cycle, caught this one during a tub cleaning day between feeds. :)

And some of Summer's babies, they're starting to catch up in size now that they aren't so picky.

They truly are! And as they get bigger, it's getting easier and easier to see the differences in their appearance. My T+ trio are on the cusp of taking whole pinks now - they're eating 3+ pink halves each and I'm getting ready to try whole pinks again - so if these babies follow in their footsteps it shouldn't be long once they're on whole pinks, too.
