Possible mouth rot? Is this advice correct?

I have a three year old, female Red Tail Boa who has developed some mouth issues. I called my usual ARAV certified vet to be seen. She is on vacation and won’t be in until Thursday. I made the appointment but called around some other places that have reptile vets because I wanted to be seen sooner. I ended up taking her to a non-certified vet. I was pretty certain they’d tell me it was mouth rot, but when the vet came back in she told me that the rest of her mouth looked good and that she thinks it’s due to an injury from rubbing and bumping her face on her glass so much trying to get out. I keep her in a partial glass tank and she does often run along the sides like this. The vet told me she cleaned it up with some antibacterial wash and prescribed me silver sulfaziadine cream to put lightly on the effected gum line. She also gave me some anti-inflammatory medication to give her orally. She said to call her if it gets worse or doesn’t improve and she’ll prescribe some antibiotics to be given. Does this sound right? I’ve never dealt with mouth rot or a mouth injury before and I’m not sure if what she told me was correct. I’m still going to take her to my usual vet on Thursday but will this hold her over until then? Any advice is appreciated :)

The sulfadiazine cream is great stuff and good to have on hand. That does however look like stomatitis to some degree. I’d get the opinion of your regular vet on Thursday but keep applying the cream as directed.
