Calling on Carpet owners. What do you think of my Bredli weight gain?
My Male Bredli will be 5 months in 5 days... so let's call it 5 months :D.
I got him 2 months ago weighing 39 grams. Today he is 102 grams after 10 mouse hoppers 8-10g.
He's been eating every 5 days unless he was on shed. Next meal will be a Rat Fuzzy at 13g.
    So...
Should I feed every 7 days from now on or keep on 5 days? Is a 13g Rat Fuzzy too small, too big (he's 102 grams)?
Have I been feeding too much?

Thanks in advance for your insight! :gj:

I had my young carpets on a pretty similar feeding schedule at that age. Every 5-7 days for the 1st year, every 7-10 days the 2nd year, and every 2-4 weeks thereafter. It's a pretty liberal regiment but not excessive. They can definitely get by with less food though.

OK got it brother, 5-7 for their first year.
Did you try to feed 15% of their body weight during that time? Meaning their first year.
    Thank you.

You could even feed him every 5-10 days and he'll still grow just fine. If he eats a small meal feed him sooner, If he has a large meal wait a little longer for the next feeding. I stopped weighing my feeders a while ago. Now I just feed them an appropriately sized prey item. I try to mix things up a bit and offer different prey types and sizes. Gotta be careful there though. Sometimes they'll develop preferences for one prey type over another.

I'd just feed whatever is closest to his girth in size. I have fed my carpet every week for the first year.. Now he is on every other week. In cases of a larger meal, he eats every 3 weeks.

I am by no means an expert, since I've only had my first carpet for 6 months, but I feed her an appropriate sized prey item every 5-7 days unless she is in shed. She's a 2018 baby, so not even a year old yet. If I happen to have a bigger item that she takes it down, I wait a day or two longer. Generally in my minimal experience, hatchlings and young snakes slam and process food like mad, they're trying to grow. I don't usually weigh my prey items. I did for my carpets first 1-3 feedings because she was so tiny and I was afraid of over-sizing it. I've since learned she can take some pretty big meals.
With my BP I actually spread her feeds out to 10 days when she turned a year old. Likely will do the same for my carpet down the road here.
You're probably good to keep feeding whatever is the appropriate size every 5-7 days for the next 6-7 months or so.
