High contrast albino VS Lavender Albino

What is the difference between the 2?

Color! A "high contrast albino" is just an albino with clean, crisp definition between the white and the yellow. A Lav is purple and yellow instead of white and yellow. If you're just looking at baby pictures, it's hard to see much difference...the color changes are pretty dramatic for lavs as they grow.

Here's a pic of an adult lav... and, of course, the picture doesn't do her justice...the flash washed out her colors.

I have an 2010 albino that is about 13" or so and he always had some lavender in his face but now the first 3 or 4" of him is a light lavender colour. does anyone know if this common amongst normal albino's or not.

Hatchling ball pythons usually have some very pretty pastel-y coloration that is outgrown in the first few months. I'd give it some time before wondering if something unique is going on...and if so, pictures would help others see what you're trying to describe. ;)

like most photos you can't see the lav very well but if you look close you can sorta see where the background colour get lighter. some where between his 5th and 6th dorsal spot. this is where his lavinder background changes to whitehttp://ball-pythons.net/gallery/file...d_20cudles.jpg

Yep. The regular-albino hatchlings have a beautiful iridescence along the lower sides, which they grow out of. It's quite stunning in person, and I've never been able to capture it in a photo.

Btw, always see the albino sire, dam or both when buying a high-contrast albino. I breed regular albinos which fade in contrast over time, and if I were corrupt, I could easily mark the hatchlings as high contrast. A buyer wouldn't know better until the snake was one or two years old and started fading.

this snake was sold to my as a normal albino not a high contrast. i'm still very happy with him though. when he's not slamin rats like they owe him money he's a very sweet little guy.

Albinos have been around for a long time, but I still think they're one of the nicest morphs. I expect you're as happy as I am with mine.

So how long does it take for the lavender albino to turn lavender??
