Got a cute picture today of Ferry eating his food.

Also, I installed a mist king system for both Ferry and Ezzy to keep humidity up. I've had a few days when I haven't been feeling well and I was not able to mist as often as I would have liked. Humidity should be 70-85% for them, with occasional drops into the 60% range to let things dry out.

I really like the system and it works as advertised. I'll probably write more about that in a review.

Ferry had some Dubai and then hung out with his momma tonight. He's doing great. He and Ezzy (leachie) love the misting system. They seem really happy and their skin feels great. It's maintaining around 65-80% with spikes to 90%.

Ferry loves to attack his insects from above.

Overall he's doing great and enjoying his misting system (as is Ezzy) and new digs. He's still a really sweet and outgoing guy. I give him insects (dubai mostly, but occasionally some mealworms, and less often, wax or butter worms) 2X a week and gel 3X. All insects dusted in calcium (very important for Chewies to have high calcium diets) and 1/2 feedings he gets a vitamin supplement as well on the insects.

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Chewie!

Re: Ferry - Rhacodactylus Chahoua (Chewie)
Ferry is doing awesome. He's active and happy and eats like a pig, most of the time. They say you should feed insects 2X a week and gel 3-4X a week. Ferry is a little picky with Gel sometimes if offered daily, except when offered bugs. Calcium is a big issue for these guys so all bugs are covered in calcium and his food is rich in calcium.

What I've been doing, and he seems to be doing well, is gel day 1, insects day 2, day or two off, gel, insects, repeat, with an extra gel day thrown in. When offering gel daily, he would often pick at it, or not even touch it. This way, he's eating regularly, maintaining weight (he's an adult), and happily hunting bugs and seeking out his gel. The gel is good for him so it's 3X gel and 2X insects in a 5 day period. The insects are gut loaded, and covered in calcium as mentioned, but he would eat a 1,000 if offered. I give either 1-2 superworms, and a few Dubai roaches, or some roaches and mealworms, etc. He will eat anything that moves. He loves to hunt. I try to limit the mealworms to 1X a week because off the chitin and feed roaches pretty much every insect feeding. He loves them and they are good for him.

Below is a video of him watching, hunting, and nailing a wax worm (a special treat).
