How big was the biggest Western Hogger?
I'm asking this question for three reasons: 1. Why not? 2. This part of the forum needs more posts 3. A guy at NOAH might have a record-breaker!

I've heard that the record was 33 inches, but I want to know what YOU heard.

    35.8".

I've seen large females in the 31 to 33" inch range.

How thick around would a snake like that be? And what would it be feeding on?

Hognose snakes are very fat according to their body proportion (so most of the other snakes their length are thinner) so a Hogger that's almost 3' would be thicker than the hole when you make an "OK" sign by touching your index finger to your thumb and weigh around a pound, and it could probably take down adult mice.

I have two females that are over 400g and eat 2 rat pups a feeding, and would probably eat more if I let them. One gave me a clutch of 32 this season. When I measured her in Jan she was 32.8". If you want to see a big hoggie, take a look at the giant madagascian hognose that gets up to 9 ft!!!

I meant a Western Hognose snake, so Madagascan ones aren't the kind I'm reffering to.
