How long til yours bred?

I got my asfs exactly 3 weeks ago... one male and 2 females...

I think my eyes are playing tricks on me.. One minute a female will look preggo, the next, nothing... lol

How long did you guys have yours until they started producing?

Both of my females are between 60-65 grams. And the male is about the same or maybe a lil larger...

I have them in a 10 gallon...

ive had mine for almost a month & nothing yet.

It's funny you ask this. I purchased mine from Mike Cavanaugh on June 22nd as weaned ASFs. The other day, I think it was 07/31/08 this litter dropped. I have two more litters since then.

There is actually 14 of those little buggers but they are all stacked on each other.

how much did your females weigh empty?

Hmm I dunno, they are too mean to weigh lol.

It's pretty obvious when they are about to drop. They swell up like walking tennis balls.

Plus I like to bother them as little as possible. They seem to like it best that way.

When you got them from me they were about 5 or 6 weeks old.... So that would mean they had their first litter at 10 or 11 weeks old. Have never tracked the time it takes a baby to have its first litter... That is younger then I thought! Very interesting!

ahhh so it took a good month and a half for em to drop there first litter... seems i have to wait longer then... :)

Sometimes it depends.
My female had two batches about 7 weeks apart.. and then she stopped for 3 months and had another batch just recently. :]

Thats weird... how old are your ASF's??

My ladies give birth every 3 weeks almost like clockwork.... they NEVER stop having babies until they are old!
