The United States Association of Reptile Keepers (USARK) is a science, education and conservation-based advocacy for the responsible private ownership of, and trade in reptiles and amphibians. Click here for Mission Statement.
USARK fights for our right to keep the animals that we love. There are many pending bills and other legislation which threaten these rights. USARK alerts us to such legislation, and is our first line of defense against it. They have taken reptile related lawsuits to federal court, and WON!
USARK is fully funded by donations. As you can imagine, lawsuits are expensive. Not to mention day to day operating expenses.

I’m sure you guys have seen the alerts posted here that USARK sends out. I literally had no idea of all the little bans, laws, and regulations that local smaller governments try to sneak in without the general public knowing. USARK is working to protect our hobby and is a cause worth donating too. I’ve been a member for a couple of years and take a lot of pride in being able to give to an organization that does what they do and would highly recommend, if you can, becoming a member.

Thank you for the information. I've donated, but never looked into membership. I thought that was a corporate thing.
I joined as an individual today.
