Got my first mice, do I need to split up the boys right away?
I have two tanks running right now, one has 6 mice the other has 7. I have a couple extra boys I really like and kind of want to keep, but I know you should only have one male in each tank. Do they kill the babies/each other, what happens? I don't plan to keep more than one male per tank, I just don't have any more tanks right now since I went to two different cities and was only able to get two tank lids.

They smell horribly, but a few of them are really cute! I really like the gold ones!

I use to breed mice and I never kept more than one male per tub. I am not saying you can't but the few times I tried more than one male there was always fighting. I would keep 1.4 in together at all times and never had a single problem. I wish you the best, and good luck!

Ok that's what I wondered. Once the extra boys are out they should be 1.4 and 1.5, I don't know why the pet stores don't have 10 gallon tank lids! I need to get at least two more tanks to use as grow out tanks!

I keep mice and rats and have no trouble keeping males together as long as it is just males in the tank. if they are mixed in with fems together they will almost definately start fighting.
