Strike speed of an ornate
This is a feeding video of Waylon, one of my ornates. The first few times you see him strike it is at full speed, then I have it slowed down to 16x and it's still incredible how fast they can strike. It looks like he explodes out of the dirt, at about :32 you can see his rear end fly up into the air and right back into his hole. This shows just how awesome of an abush predator these frog truly are.

The speed is unbelievable, I almost want to say faster than most snakes! :O
Re: Strike speed of an ornate
If the husbandry is correct they should never have a problem with it at all. That's why we use coco fiber, it is designed to pass right through them as long as they have proper temps and humidty.

And yes they are extremely fast. They have caught me on more than one occasion. :)
