First shed
Hi guys :) I'm not new to the forum, but this is my first time posting. I'm an avid lurker on here. I got my first snake ever (a female ball python. baby, but not exactly sure of the age) a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still very new to a lot of things. She just had her first shed, but I'm not sure if she's had a bad shed or if she's not finished yet? Hardly any of her old skin has come off, but it looks very loose on her. It's been about 24(-ish?) hours since she began shedding. I read the post about how to help her out when she has a bad shed, but I don't want to do that until I'm sure she's finished. Any suggestions?

Re: First shed
Hi,
Well can you tell us the humidity level in the tank and how you measure it?
Generally mine finish the actual shed within a couple of hours of starting - but I do have a lazy so and so that only ever removes the top of his head and occasionally his belly ( and I swear the last bit is by accident) before giving up and waiting on the big pink thing doing it for him.:)

Re: First shed
Generally it stays around 40%. I've been having a REALLY hard time trying to keep the humidity up. I read another sticky on how to keep humidity and heat in by putting aluminum foil on the top of the aquarium, but I don't really understand how.. Sorry. The cold medicine is controlling my brain right now, lol.

Re: First shed
Lol,
Yeah I know how that whole choked fuzzy feeling head thing feels.:)
I would mist the tank to raise the humidity a little just now and possibly keep trying that for 24 hours - though you will need to make sure it isn't killing your temperatures too much.
Then if there is still some stuck shed I would go ahead and try the bad shed sticky.:)
