Farting in the water bowl 😀
Hi. Another question as a newbie in short tails. It is now the third time late in the night when my short tail is sleeping in her waterbowl that I hear a noise that sounds like someone is farting in the water. Today I was still awake and immediately looked after him and he was still in the bowl looking at me. Is this normal. Did he pee in the bowl or just fart ? No urinate visible. Did someone recognize this too ?

    Snakes pass gas. That's normal.

If it urinated in the water you would be able to tell but you could always just change the water to be sure it is fresh.

No. It really sounded like a fart under water. Similar to my tegu when he fart or pees in the bath tube under water. Like a flush together with gas.

So. Tonight I got him. He crawled into the waterbowl head first , got under water and blew bubbles..... Really loud for such a small snake. :)

My SSTP blows bubbles in her water all the time. The first time I heard it I thought a snake was farting and it took me a few minutes to figure out lol.
