    The Great Holiday Bake Thread
    Happy holidays forum-goers!

Whether you're making something for Christmas, already made something for Hanukkah, or just want to celebrate the end of this dumpster-fire of a year with some baked goods, feel free to share what you've made and any baking tips you have here! Bakers of all experience levels welcome!

I was feeling inspired today and made the Tunisian orange and olive oil cake I mentioned in the other thread a bit early. A wee bit of crumble, but very tasty!

    The Great Holiday Bake Thread
I make this every year for thanksgiving, but might have to make it again for Christmas because it’s the absolute best thing on earth. Brûléed Pumpkin Beer Pie. Tapatalk is being an absolute failure of an app at everything photo related for me on this reply or I’d post a pic.

I have never heard of a pie like that -- it sounds delicious! I can't wait to see photos.

...on that note, I'm having Tapatalk photo upload issues as well. Restarting my phone and updating the app didn't help. Perhaps it's something with their servers?...

    Spicey
Spice cake is my go-to and it's hard to mess up. I tried making sugar cookies but my oven is tempermental and they got a little crisp. :( I did make some scratch brownies with scratch fudge icing and they turned out really well and I am proud as it was my first try. :D

I just did the same on my phone, no dice.

If you Google the name of that pie you’ll find the recipe on thebeeroness.com. Beer in both the crust and filling and it’s outstanding. My stepfather requests I make this any time I make a trip back home. It very quickly became referred to as my signature dessert and I take great pride in it.

My wife has a super secret snickerdoodle recipe she got from somewhere on the internet before we started dating and made some changes to it. Typically she'll make like 20 dozen to give out to folks, but because of covid she's doing a lot less just for us. I'd share the recipe but she'd find out and murder me.

At last, photos are uploading! Had a slice for breakfast and I'm not the least bit sorry.

This looks delicious! You said this is a Tunisian recipe? I spent some time in Afghanistan and they had a sweet cake thing that looked similar to this but I think they made it with honey and cinnamon instead of citrus. It was one of my favorite things and I've utterly failed at trying to replicate it myself.

The recipe is Tunisian by way of a small bakery's cookbook. I can PM you the recipe if you'd like. It's very simple and quick to make, so just grab some quality ingredients and you should be good! Not quite the same as the Afghan dessert you mentioned, but it is refreshingly different (and a good pairing with coffee and mint tea). :D

On the topic of Middle Eastern/South Asian desserts: I will say that my true specialty is baklava. I've played with a couple of different styles over the years (ie. Greek, Turkish, Persian) and have always been pleased with the results. It's something I only make for a crowd, though.
