Mice colony set up

I am in the process of moving and I'm trying to figure out what to do with my colony of mice, the only option i have is to put them in the shed on the property. but it is not hooked up to electricity. what can i use for heat sources during the winter months or do i need anything at all. i only have a small colony. suggestions are appreciated.

Depends on where you live -how cold does it get in winter? And how cold does it get in the shed? (ie. is the building insulated & how big is it? Can't begin to answer without knowing that.)

The bad about using a shed, other mice an stuff find a way in. Then your mice get worms an fleas .....

You could hook up a gas heater an set it at 45-50F.

Or gas them all in the Winter an start over in the Spring.

The shed isn't insulated well. And it can get -30°C in the winter

Forget it. Sorry- it won't work. You'd have a hard time keeping them alive, & they wouldn't breed anyway.

I feed them to my snake live I forgot to say that. I got a screen top and the walls of their enclosure is too high for anything else to get in at them

That's -22F. Down size, keep two females an a male in the 10 gallon tank in your room. Gas the rest. Or find another breeder or friend that will take your colony an sell you some prey cheap. It's not cost effective to heat a shed at -22F. I don't even know if building an insulated box would work that cold.

Doesn't matter- wild rodents carry all sorts of diseases that transfer thru screen tops etc- plus fleas, mites, etc. Don't breed rodents in a shed where there's ANY access by wild rodents. The diseases they catch (or just carry) can also infect YOU.
