Shipping reptiles (snakes or otherwise) to BUSH Alaska (Bethel)
    Hey all,
Have a question for all you Alaskan reptile lovers:
Do any of you live in bush Alaska? How did you bring/ship your animals with you? I've looked into Ravn and Alaska Airline's pet policy but it's confusing...I only know I can't use a snake as an emotional companion on a flight but I can have a miniature horse LOL.
I've had reptiles in the lower 48 but this is a hole new ballgame and I'm not sure it's doable. I've done search after search online and can't seem to find conclusive info.
If I were to purchase a corn snake or or other small reptile online from here in Bethel, are they able to ship to me? I know a lot of places use ShipYourReptiles or similar but I'm thinking Bethel is not available as Priority Overnight with FedEx. There's just got to be a way.
    I appreciate your responses.

I moved to and back from Hawaii with a rabbit. They put her in with the luggage. LOTS of rules - and none of the airline employees agree on them...
Weather dependent, and a major hassle, but at the time, it was doable (just). The return trip two years later was VERY hard on the bunny. Not recommending it.

If you are that committed to an animal, maybe charter a small plane with a bush piolet? You would have a better idea of the pricing than I would.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm thinking maybe chartering a plane is the best way to go. I'm going to wait until next spring/summer to buy/have a reptile shipped since now we're coming up on the worst time to send reptiles to freezing Alaska.
I also might look for a reptile store in Anchorage that might be able to help me out with the process. Thanks!
