    Strange looking ASF
I had a few of these in my last litter. The older they get the more the pattern shows up. This one shows the best. None of my other asf's have that dark saddle on their backs and this is the first time I have seen it.

    It's totally normal. It's just molting. :P
Mine do it all the time. Some even go totally bald when they molt, and grow all their hair back.
It'll turn normal after a while.

But this isn't hair loss at all. It's hair is all there, just different patterns and colors. And out of almost 200 it's only a couple from this one litter.

It -is- hair loss. It's molting. Look at your ASF you can clearly see that the dark area is shorter fur than the light area.

This is called molting, and is perfectly normal. Some do it worse than others.

Aw man, I thought theses were something special. They have NEVER done that before. I knew about the molting but it has always been done like your second pic. Almost bald. Anyway thanks for the info! :gj:

Yeah it's really weird that some do it, some don't, and some go BALD!
I try to breed mine together, in the hopes of one day getting some that go bald, and don't grow back. It's a pipe dream, but hey, it can't hurt. :D

The first time I saw one, I posted about it to saying something like 'WOAH! New breed of ASFs with SKIRTS!?!?'
