And it's pretty sad to know that even if you leave this galaxy you still have to travel 2 million light years to get to the next one (which is like getting pulled by the Array 27 times).

Wow. I got away with saying this and no one called me a "trekkie" :D.

Amazing picture! And just think; not only are we looking back 2 million years in time, we're also looking back even further in the far edge of the galaxy...so, what we're seeing, is how the closest edge of the galaxy looked 2 million years ago, and the further edge (depending on the diameter of the galaxy) from some 2.5-2.8 (I'm making an estimation on the assumption that the galaxy in question is about the same size or a bit larger than our own) million years ago. The universe is an amazing place.

Thumbs up on an AMAZING shot! How did you even manage to zoom that well? Was it through a telescope? I'm just going to assume that comparing your camera to mine is like comparing the Hubble to the bottom of a beer bottle wedged into a paper towel roll. If you have any other pictures, I'd LOVE to see them!

I'm kind of into stuff like this. I'd share pictures, but, well... My camera isn't that good. I tried taking a picture of the moon a while back and it was a black background with a white smear. Oh well!
