    Bird Location
I am rearranging my animal room and I'm trying to figure out where to put Sydney, my cockatiel. She has to stay in the animal room because my cats would bother her and possibly kill her if given the chance. Right now she is a little ways away from the window. I was wondering if it would be okay to put her cage up against the window IF I got some of those light blocking curtains. If it blocks the light, it should also block heat. I only open the window on cleaning days (2-3 times per week) to ventilate the room a bit more. Would this be okay for her?

I do not recommend it at all. Windows are where temps fluctuate the most, and birds are sensitive to temperature changes. Its not good for any animal to be near windows. I do understand your situation though, we have to do the same at our home with our cats and birds. Our Gray will actually growl at the cats if they get to close, LOL. She is full of it though, even though she would deny it if you asked her.
