Wounds on belly?

Hey guys, I’m new to the snake hobby and just recently adopted a brooks kingsnake. I got him from a guy needing to re-home him ASAP and got little info about him. Upon further examination when I got home I found what looks like mostly healed wounds on his belly. I did some research and am not sure if it’s scale rot or healing burn scars. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated! And how would I go about treating it? Do I need to see a vet? It looks like burns more than scale rot. It’s hard to say, though.

I can't say for sure but I don't think it's burns, they're too small and isolated; for all you know, this might have been a wild-caught snake, or one that tried to squeeze
his way out of his previous cage...or one that injured himself on jagged cage decor, or...who knows what? Since these spots are "mostly healed" I would not do
anything other than allow subsequent sheds to finish the healing process. So unless you see something that I cannot, where the skin is raw (pink or bleeding or
oozing) do nothing other than keep him on plain paper substrate for a while so that nothing further irritates or infects the healing wounds. If there are any unhealed
areas or areas that get scraped open with activity or the next shed, then you'd want to use some Vetericyn antiseptic topical gel (that's water-based & made for snake-
use); you can also dab on some Betadine solution (povidone-iodine). Feeding this snake healthy rodents (f/t of course) & not handling much will go a long way to help
him heal up- it will take multiple sheds & some scars may still remain. Obviously if the problem worsens or spreads, book an appointment with a good herp vet.

[QUOTE]...I’m trying not to freak out...[QUOTE] You always have to remain a little skeptical when you adopt or buy a snake from someone who's in such a hurry to unload it that they cannot provide you some basic information about the snake, but from what I can see, it's pretty much the snake-equivalent to a human having a few skinned knees or elbows. ;)
