Ya Boi Petrie

I am officially introducing my dashing noodle, the embodiment of charm and chivalry, an avid explorer who believes in the journey rather than the destination... Petrie!

He entered this world sometime during the year of 2018, most likely during the first half. This beastly boy can stretch out to a whopping 26(or so) inches, and weighs in at an astounding 184 grams(another estimation, he did not cooperate.)

He is but a humble lemonblast who may not be most eye catching, there are those who appreciate his type of beauty.

(I'm using exaggerative language to make the post more dynamic. To be honest, I may have gotten a bit ahead of myself, but I'm bored and plum full of creative excitement after planning out a paludarium build I've been procrastinating on. It just sort of oozed out of control and thus... sitcom.

Can hardly wait for your next episode....now see what you started!? Handsome noodle (pretty eyes too), and :welcome: to you both. :D

Welcome! Beautiful snake....I also have a lemonblast in my menagerie. I’m partial to most pinstripe morph combinations, so I may be biased. :D

Eh-hem! Come one, come all, and lend an ear; Finally... I have an update!

The world of the ball python is a slow one, and dearest Petrie is no exception. He does enjoy the little things in life, such as exploring the cracks between the couch cushions. It's all about the journey.

Today I bring exciting news: Petrie is going through his first shed while in my care! For a young snake, granted, this isn't rare(the BPs at work seem to constantly be shedding) but I am eager to learn how he does. It is an important page in my snake keeping book of wonders and especially in my relationship with this angelic boy.

Having mentioned BPs at work, there is a very pitiful girl who can never seem to shed her head and eye caps. We're going on three weeks with no luck, and this isn't the first time this has happened. We are trying everything we can think of to help her.

Because of this, I am keeping a close eye on my scaly son. Its warm and steamy up in his bachelor pad, and he has been a good boy soaking in his pool- water dish- when he feels he needs it. So far it looks like it will go smoothly.

I am quite proud of myself so far. It puts me at ease knowing he is growing. I also keep tabs on his weight, although he is a very reliable feeder. Hasn't turned down a single meal, the strapping young lad! I doubt he will be eating this week, though.

In other news, Petrie has taken a huge stride into adulthood and purchased a new house... with my money, and I did all the work, but it will be his forever home. It's a large/low ExoTerra, plenty of room for him to get big n' strong! Unfortunately, the moving process is a long and grueling task, and due to a haunting mistake which has come back yet again to bite me in the rear, I will have to move a 50 lbs 10 gallon fire-bellied toad tank off of a 6ft high entertainment stand. Well, after mangling my fingers the first time moving it, I do plan on temporarily relocating the little bugger and finally making his paludarium.

This spring will bring many more updates. Once the weather decides to get its act together and stops living in its mother's below 30° basement, I will be building a reptile shelf! Huge project, I am very afraid. To be clear, I am a 21 y.o. female who has exactly one carpentry project under her belt, and my dad(a roofer) did most of the work. I have the plans drawn up, but do I have the skill? Tune in to find out if I royally screw it up and waste a ton of money in the process.

I am also looking for a future girlfriend for Petrie. Thinking of hobby breeding once I am done with school and since it takes years for females to be ready to breed, I'd like it if I could raise her up. Thinking maybe a disco inferno spicy lady snake? I like the morph and the possible outcomes of a lemonblast x disco fire pair. It took days to come to this conclusion because I wanted something I simply liked the look of since I may decide not to breed. Definitely going to get a BEL in the future though. Thus, reptile shelf with 3 large snake terrariums! The next round of expos is coming around, so now is the time. Gosh I love spring!

If you read all of this, you are precious. If not, well, that was probably a good decision. That's a lot of irrelevant stuff I just wasted 20 minutes typing up for a bunch of friendly snake-loving strangers.
