    And So We Wait...
Finally pulled the trigger last week on a snake I've been thinking about for a while, and finished prepping the quarantine closet today by moving most of the clothes to another closet for the next 3 months. Should all go well, he will graduate qurantine just in time for us to regain access to our winter clothes. [emoji12]

Any guesses as to what genes this chunky little boy carries? [emoji6]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fbfe1b25a5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2a2e3b6a1e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fd6f86d753.jpg

    Box is here!

Fortunately I heard the knock, but I'm not sure why FedEx is opposed to using the perfectly functional doorbell...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...da2dcfb98f.jpg

I was going to guess hypo pastel lesser leopard but after the other guesses I'm thinking I may have over estimated lol. Let's hear what she is, sure is pretty either way, congrats on the new pickup! ;)

Ugh, my apologies everyone. I moved over from Supervision to Intake, at the local jail no less, for 4 weeks of training the day I brought home this little guy, and no longer know what day it is, or where what sanity I had left has gone. :taz:

DING DING DING! You more or less have it with the Hypo Pewter Lesser- if one wants to split hairs, he's a Hypo Pewter Butter, but from what I understand Butter and Lesser are slightly different variations of the same gene? Anyhow, I love how he's silver on top, yellow further down, and white on the bottom- I'm really hoping the Butter keeps that yellow nice and bright as he ages. I do seem to love yellow on my snakes. :P

Really what attracted me to him, more than anything else, was that his coloration meant I could name him after my favorite One Punch Man character. So Genos he was before he was even purchased, and Genos he shall stay.

Thanks guys! Sadly, no leopard in this one, but I'm pretty content to have one that has more of the traditional side markings (dunno if they quite qualify as proper alien heads).

So far Genos seems to have a much more brazen personality than Horatio. Horatio is quite timid most of the time, possibly even for a BP, and pretty jumpy (although he's always been very sweet and easy to handle). Genos seems to be much less retiring so far. It took Horatio at least a year before he'd even climb up on my shoulder, but Genos tried to climb my arm almost as soon as I took him out of the box... Also the curtains... Also things in the closet as I tried to put him in his tub. Once in a while he'll flinch back into his hide, but pops his head out really quickly after, unlike Horatio. He'll happily poke his head out and watch me if I'm rummaging around in the closet for something, or checking on him, but doesn't seem aggressive. He was only handled when his tub has cleaned, so the one time he's been held since coming home (for the purposes of cleaning up after he soaked his quarantine paper towels), he peed on my boyfriend... And thus won himself an early graduation to coconut fiber bedding, which he seems to enjoy.

He's eaten two mice for me since his arrival. He was being fed every other week when he was with the breeder, but he was wound so tight for his feeding tonight that he started striking at nothing before the mouse was anywhere near his tub... So I think I'll bump him up to weekly feedings starting next week. Happily, he is not is particular about his feeding routine as Horatio, and is perfectly content to have his dinner plopped unceremoniously into his tub without extraneous wiggling. One more mouse, and then I will attempt to switch him to rats. I hope he's just as enthusiastic about those as he is his mice!
