Fuel to the fire!
Apparently there is a green mamba loose in florida. It bit a cable worker. So get ready to fight some new venomous laws.

Re: Fuel to the fire!
I just heard about it from the local reptile store. Goodbye to Hots now. Nobody made that big a deal about the Pygmy rattlers, but since everyone's on a roll now...

Re: Fuel to the fire!
The story said Hollywood, not Florida... Either way, thats craptacular.
Edit: Hollywood Beach, Florida... gotcha.

Re: Fuel to the fire!
I swear it seems like since hr 669 came about there has been an increase in people dumping these animals. I wish people would just turn them in. It was near an apartment building and that could of easily been a child.

Re: Fuel to the fire!
Oh great..
Here we go with another fight to win for most venomous species of snakes if not maybe even all. I hope this won't get too out of hand like it did with the python ban..

Re: Fuel to the fire!
Why don't they just ban people from florida. They're really what's causing all this, not the animals.

Because that would actually fix some problems.

Re: Fuel to the fire!
The situation for herpers in Florida is all kinds of ridonkulous. I'm glad that cable worker got prompt treatment for the bite, and I hope the experience doesn't cause him ill will towards reptiles.
Although, that is a beautiful mamba photo at the bottom of the article there :D

warning residents that a "poisonous" snake was on the loose.
I hate to say it but we might as well give up if the news cant even get it right! and if the news cant get it right nor will the uneducated people who will support the ban! :tears::mad:

Re: Fuel to the fire!
sorry for the double post but in one paragraph it says poisonous and the other says venomous? wow!

Re: Fuel to the fire!
Im finding it hard to believe he was bitten by a green mamba when the hospital released him after only an hour and one vial of av.

Re: Fuel to the fire!
Personally I didn't think the article was all that bad, despite the poisonous/venomous mixups. At least they got some proper info on the snake itself and didn't drama up the article with those gushing descriptions I see sometimes. Kept things pretty straight forward.
But then I made the mistake of clicking on the comments.... ugh.....
