They're here!!
My new leopard geckos arrived this morning, and they are beautiful!! :) Still pretty shy, so I haven't really bothered them... but they seem to like the tank and each other just fine. I decided to name the Las Vegas Albino "Sahara" after the LV hotel, and the SHTCT is named "Sunny" after a stuffed bunny I had as a kid (since she's a carrot tail gecko, LOL).
My camera just died, so I could only snap a couple of fuzzy photos, but here they are:

Re: They're here!!
Thanks! Btw, they came from VMS Herps, and I was very pleased with the whole transaction... good communication, fair prices, and beautiful lizards. So if anyone's looking to order some new critters, I would give them a thumbs-up! :gj:
Here's a picture of the tank before I added the leos... I realize now the water dish is too large, so I'll replace that & also add a calcium dish. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and they seem to be comfortable so far.

Re: They're here!!
Oh, and I decided to try out that repti-carpet, instead of using paper towels or newspaper (as I do with my BPs). My roommate uses the carpet for his leos, and seems to like it... I'm afraid cleaning will be a PITA, but figured it was worth a try! I really like how it looks, and thought it would be more sturdy for these active babies.

Re: They're here!!
Thanks for the comments! I think they're just gorgeous, and seem very sweet so far. I put my hand in yesterday to see their reaction, and Sahara approached to check me out - she sniffed my finger, and then tried to nibble it. :D Tonight I fed them for the first time, and they voraciously ate about a dozen small crickets... I also switched their water dish for a small one, added a tiny dish of calcium powder, and moved their rock cave to the other corner (where they were hanging out). They seem pretty content with the tank and each other, as you can see from this picture:

Re: They're here!!
totally cute little ones!
if i may suggest, you should consider trying to add some more hiding spaces so that they dont have to share, and think about putting a humid hide in as well... the last thing you want is the eventual competition for food, hides and such that might cause you to have to seperate them.
good luck with your new girls! they are very cute!

Re: They're here!!
Thanks! I have added more hiding spaces since that picture, and there's a humid hide (tupperware w/ moss) in the corner. Sahara is definitely the dominant girl, but hasn't bullied Sunny at all... I think they are "friends" if lizards are capable of such a thing, LOL. Anyway, here are some updated photos of their enclosure, which they seem to be loving. :gj:

Sunny switches between these two caves, while Sahara likes hanging out behind the logs (under the heat lamp)... should I move one cave to that other corner?

Re: They're here!!
Sheesh... I didn't notice until looking at those pictures, but they've tracked their calcium powder everywhere! Is that typical? I'll clean the repti-carpet tonight, and wipe down the caves with a paper towel.
Oh, and I'm also going to buy new tupperware, since that humid hide is too large & exposed. I did find a few small pieces of shed the other day, and nothing stuck to their bodies - so I guess the humidity is alright?
