New pictures
So anyways, I figure I would snap a couple pictures before I fed her. Pictures aren't the best of quality, and it's hard to see some of her being shes wrapped around my hand. While I was feeding her, wow she's becoming so lazy and useto eating F/T/prekilled. When I hold the mouse by the tail and shake it, she doesn't even bother to bite it, she just wraps her head then coils around the mouse, never bites it. I was like wow girl you're lazy.
Anyways without further adue, here are some pictures:

Thanks, she's a beauty. I want to make a video, I need to fix the camera settings on my phone so I can take a video. Either that or i'll borrow my mothers digital camera and make a video.

Re: New pictures
Pretty looking girl. I think it's cool that you own a anaconda. I love ball pythons to death but think it would be so cool to own a snake that is less uncommon. Well at least from where I'm from.

Re: New pictures
That's part of the reason I got a yellow anaconda as my first snake. I wanted to own something that not many others own.

Re: New pictures
Good choice :gj: I wouldn't mind having one, some day. How is their temperaments?

Re: New pictures
Mine is a sweetheart. I say she never bit me, but when I first got her, I mean right when she came from fedex, I opened the box, and I wanted to make sure she was alive and all, so I picked her up, she nipped me on the thumb, then when I went to switch hands, she nipped me on the same thumb again. I don't call that as her biting me though, she was bounced around for hours and she was stressed and went after the first thing she could which was my hand.
I mean other then that occurence, she has never bit, or struck or hissed at me. I would honestly say she's the calmest snake i've seen because shes not headshy. I can pet her ontop of her head, and she especially loves when I rub under her head. I know others that have gotten some nippy ones, I guess it really depends on who you get it from.

Re: New pictures
very cool :O.How big will she get when full grown . Does captivity have an effect on this. :)

Re: New pictures
I'm expecting 11-13 feet due to being a female. Males normally don't hit double digits. I believe the mother was around 12 foot.

Re: New pictures
She's beautiful!
The more I see of these guys, the more I like them.
They are definitely one of the 'big snakes' I'm interested in.
Now if only my b/f would get over his crippling phobia of snakes and actually be able to help me handle something so large. :hmm:

Re: New pictures

Re: New pictures
Ben is a great guy. I haven't seen much from him as far as the conda's go.
Fiend, did you originally look to get a male yellow, or was that just what you happened to get by chance when you got yours?

An anaconda who loves under their head being rubbed is AWESOME! I've seen some breeders mention they start doing "handling sessions" when they are still young. So I guess it does depend who you get one from. Well thanks for the info. Maybe down the road I will own a yellow anaconda. I think a male though ;)

I will make a video in a day or 2 since I fed my girl yesterday. I will show you how she loves to have under her head rubbed, actually both of my snakes love that. Her moreso then my little guy. Another thing she loves is when I breathe hot air onto her head if i'm holding her inside my hands. She loves it and will come to a direct stop if I start to do it.

LOL, my girlfriend, well ex now asked the same thing, only to see it about 3 weeks after I talked to her about it. I asked you know as a bf just being the right thing to do, and she was like: "no snakes blah blah blah" which I translated to "go ahead and get you something you like since I always get what I like". Needless to say. I have her. I would never let anybody stop me from getting something I want.

I agree. I tell her to go get something out of the same value of money I spend on my reptiles. That way it is equal. She always says "we have to compromise". LOL! She loves my reptiles, but does not understand my addiction. This is what she always says, "why aren't you ever satisfied with the ones you got"?

Re: New pictures
Sorry to just get back to you Neal.
i went looking for a CBB Yellow male.
i i found him at a local show.
i was super excited.
i fell in love with anacondas when i played with a nice 6-7 ft greenie.
i love the way they look, and feel.
and how strong they are.
the same thing happened with retics...
WHY DO I HAVE TO LOVE GIANTS?!?!?!
lol
so, i have the smallest giants i can get.
1.0 yellow.
1.1 SD retics.
i have to really research my animals TONS before i go get one..
and the anaconda was a very thought out purchase.
he will be MY largest snake, but i live at home, and we as a family have a 14 ft, 100+ lb albino burmese python...

My thought of getting my yellow lasted about 2 weeks. Then I decided I was going to get one, and I wanted a female due to them getting larger. So after I got home from work, I googled googled yellow anaconda, and Matt Crews(victoryreptiles) came up. I called him a few times to get other general information, then I told him I wanted a female, and I paid him over the phone via cc. I asked him to not ship on Thursday incase something got delayed, and so he shipped to me on Monday. Got her and been loving her ever since.

Thanks. I know my somebody is out there, they just happened to take a wrong turn and are to stubborn to ask for directions, either that or they're going in circles, not sure which one.
