Finally paid off.

I bought a pair of het lavenders in 2005. The female laid for me in 07. 5 slugs and one good egg. The good egg ended up being a poss het male. In 08 she laid nothing. This year I was able to get three of the male hets offspring from normal females to go. So far it looks like only one of the three poss hets proved out but I'll take it. I also finally got 7 good eggs from the 100% het female that were just laid a week ago so I may get lucky and get another one or two. If I had to do it over again I probably would have just bought the male het and saved myself quite a few thousand dollars but I'll take it. Now I am just hoping it ends up being a male. Pretty excited to see what this it looks like when it finally decides to come out.

those are some beautiful snakes. good luck with the breeding! i think im gona be trying in a few years. breeding my normal to a Pinstripe or possibly an Albino.

I was definitely sweating it this year. I kept candling eggs and kept seeing black on all 15 eggs that were far enough along to see color aside from this one. I still wouldn't let myself believe there was actually a LA in there until I cut the egg. Now I just need to produce about a dozen more and I may actually break even on this project. :D

Congrats on finally hitting it! Trust me you're not the only one who hasn't had the best luck with buying morphs back in the day. A good friend of mine bought Genetic Stripes back when they were $25K (more than Pieds at the time) and has only produced a small handful since. Same story on a Clown, just different price (I think it was more like $10K).

I was smart with the clowns and the g-stripes. I went cheap and only bought het males in 05. This year I should produce a good number of them assuming the odds come out about right.

i got a pair of het lav last year and i also got a 1.0 dhet gstripe/albino and 0.2 het gstripe(06) but none went this year hopefully next year

Congrats John. I have seen plenty of Lavenders hatching (none of mine unfortunately), and they are amzing even right out of the egg. I am sending "pene" prayers your way.

Well no luck on getting a male. Definitely a female. I was hoping to feed a boy up and get him ready for my pied but I guess I'll have to wait on the next clutch and hope I get lucky.

Awesome man! I just bred het albino x het albino, and got 4 eggs... One of the eggs started to sink in and die.. I opened it up and there was a white snake in there.... I hope the albino didntdie (if there was one)... It was probably and undeveloped poss het....
