    abnormal markings?
okay everyone Pheobe(bp)just had her first perfect shed!!!:gj::):D:banana:

but one thing that i noticed kinda through me off a bit. first of all, i noticed she suddenly had a black dot on her back where it is usually brown(it could hav been ther all along and i never saw it). next, i saw these really odd abnormal scales in a few spots on her back. they are like a crappy grey color mixed with some brown. there are only a few scales like this though. please tell me what you think they are.

her cage conditions are perfect, 85-90 on warm side, 75-80 on cool, 50-60% humidity, aspen, waterbowl,plants... shes also in a 20L.

i AM taking her to see the vet on monday(i couldnt afford taking her to the vet earlier):(

i am willing to spend any amount of money into making her healthy.

    please respond.

Congrats on a perfect shed :)

Pictures would be helpful in describing your problem, because I dont really understand.

Maybe your BP just has a few scales that did not come off while shedding. (This is just a guess, because I dont really understand). If this IS the case, you can soak you BP and try to rub off the little pieces of stuck shed.

    Hope this helps,

well i cant post any pics cuz my camera is broken, but il try to describe it better.

so on her neck, there are patches of scales that look odd. they are grey and kind of look old, if that helps at all lol. (i dont think its scale rot though because she never sits in her waterbowl.)

one more thing i noticed near her vent was this pink thing. it is an inch above the vent and is just a little part where it is light pink. it looks like its inside her body though.. any ideas?

Even with describing it, your definition vs ours is going to be different. You don't have any kind of camera? Webcam? Phone camera?

Doesn't work, you may want to get the link and put the whole link here. It would be much easier.

Your snake's color will change over time. This is normal. Especially with the black/brown spots. I do know exactly what you mean with the odd looking scales that appear almost grey. This is shed that didn't come off completely. You can either soak the snake for a couple hours then use a damp hand town to help remove it, or just wait for it to come off during the next shed. Its not a big deal and won't harm your snake.
