Being an Eagle fan I am pretty much up in the air.

I like it because a football standpoint but am a bit skeptical about it.

I do believe everyone deserves a 2nd chance however.

Also a buddy of mine pointed this out:

"Leonard Little Killed a mother of two while drunk driving, still plays in the NFL.

Stallworth killed a father of three while drunk driving, will play again in the NFL.

Both served less time in jail than Michael Vick."

I'm a little disappointed he's going to be a back up for 2 yrs, but this might be the low key come back the NFL probably wanted. Now it shows many teams were nervous about picking him up I'm thinking there wasn't much of a market and thats why he signed with the eagles.

Like i've stated in other posts, as far as him being an athlete, he's a great athlete. When you look at him as a QB though, he's not a great QB, or even a good one.

I disagree at one point he was the highest paid player in the NFL.

He wasnt a great QB but he was definitely way above average.

He set the bar really high for your hybrid type QB.

What does being the highest paid NFL player have to do with anything?

Tom Brady has 3 SB rings and was making less than half of Vick's $130 million.

Matt Ryan[$72 million], who had never played in an NFL game, signed a larger contract than Brady[$60 million]...with his 3 SB rings.

I think the money just shows how large that individuals ego is and what it takes to satisfy it.

I have posted all the numbers in the other Vick thread...he was an average QB at best. Look at his numbers. Yes he ran for over a thousand yards one year...but do that and achieve 90.0+ QB rating like the big boys then I will call him a good QB. He was nothing more than a glorified tailback.

Most overrated player. Atlanta, what did your $130 million quarterback get you?

No thanks...I will pass and take the good QB for $60 million.

You mean $160 million will buy you a divisional playoff win.

Because they lost the NFC championship game and the $160 million dollar QB had a whopping 162 total yards!!!!!! 162 yards TOTAL!!!! Obviously his scrambling got him nowhere because he was sacked 4 times. He did not throw for any TD's. He did not rush for any TD's. His 'sub par' talent scored all the points.

So...$160 million will buy you a divisional win, and an NFC Championship flop.

Donavan McNab cannot be happy about this. If side lining him last season was a slap in the face what would you consider this?

This definately is a threat to his leadership. I dont care what Reid says.

Only get better? He is 29. He will be 30 before he gets up to speed. He is beyond his prime. He is not going to be near the talent he use to be. He was away from the game for 2 years. The last time he was away from the game for 2 years was probably before he ever began to play football.

As for Andy Reid, of course he is going to say he was one of the best QB's in the league. He has, for the most part, a ticked off fan base now. He has to show confidence in Vick so that the fans buy into it. Andy Reid isn't going to stand up and say that he is trash, that would just furthermore tick the fans off.

I will say this, Vick will NEVER be invited to the pro bowl again.

Like Jerhart said, being the highest paid NFL player means jack. Do the research, look at his numbers. He isn't really all he is cut out to be, yes he can make plays happen because he's fast and he can scramble, don't over-look that he was also the most sacked. He had a good team when they went to the NFC Championship game, Vick + Dunn + whoever else they had at the time were a good running team. They had the highest yards, well above any other team, and they also had Crumpler, Price, Jenkins. Not to mention their Defense was great, Brooking, Hall, Vilma, Kearney.

We'll agree to disagree but I say he'll be a dominant force again and will make the pro-bowl in 2 yrs.

Not to mention hes older, and he's picked up weight, so he's not as quick as he once was.

He should never be allowed back in the NFL. I think anyone with a severe enough conviction whether it be drugs or whatever should be banned period.

We'll see I'm only defending the guys athletic ability nothing else.... He's older and hasn't gotten hit in 2 yrs and he himself said he wants to become a more complete QB with Mcnabb and Reid's help.

He has to if he wants to last. A scrambling QB only lasts so long then injuries kick in. If he can become a better passer, then yes, it would open a lot more options for him.

If he's like most meat head football players, he's been getting away with things that other people can't do since high school. It continued and was stepped up a notch in college. Any person that got a true education from an institution of higher learning would not talk the way he does in interviews. Instead he got some Bullcrap degree from VT that claims to be an institution of higher learning. VT is a good school but unfortunately they undermine their educational mission when they give guys like this degrees in anything other than football. These guys are coddled throughout their whole developmental process and allowed to bend the rules because their talents are deemed so important. They really are a bunch of immature men running around on a field.

This guy hit the genetic lottery with the athletic skills he was born with.....but he is stupid, soulless, and vapid person with extremely poor decision making skills. Other professions punish or do not tolerate such poor decision making-if he was a doctor, lawyer, teacher, police officer etc he would have lost his ability to practice his profession. Not in the NFL.....their is no real "professionalism" in NFL. And the NFL seems to be the worse league of them all. I dont think MLB or NHL players having any were near the rate of criminality as NFL does....
