Wats your day job?

I thought this would be a cool thread to make. Im not sure if there is already one like this but who cares. Let me start off 1st. Im a summer camp counselor here at one of the recreation centers here in D.C.. My job is to basicly find some thing for all the little kids (i call them deamons :rolleye2:) to do. So im sorrunded by 100s of little bugger eaters and potential MMA fighters all day. But i still love my job and i would and not trade it for any thing as i love working with kids. I just think it so amazing how little kids can turn basicly nothing and with a little imagination can turn into some thing big. I just love it.:P So what you day job?

I'm a reference librarian, and also a musician and private tutor... my most recent "day job" was managing a public library branch, but I got laid off in April. :( Fortunately, I most likely have a new job starting soon, working with a local high school (developing their library collection & tutoring center). I love my career, and honestly I've been bored senseless these last few months - so I'll be glad to go back to work.

P.S. I have been a summer camp director, at an ice skating camp nonetheless (I used to skate)... if you think it's hard running after kids on the ground, try chasing them on the ice! :weirdface But I definitely feel your pain, LOL.

During the day I do yard work at my bosses house. Nights I clean a small surgery center.

Not the funniest job but it pays for reptiles. :snake:

I am the Boarding Supervisor at an Exotic Animal Hosp. I LOVE it soooo much! I get to take care of all kinds of animal friends while their family is out of town. Plus I get to boss people around LOL.

Technically I work "Nights" but good old General Motors assembly line worker. AKA Shop Rat.

I work overnights at wal-mart. I hate it....but it pays my bills and gives me funding for my expensive hobbies. I tried branching away from retail a couple times, I liked factory work, but soon realized that its not very reliable (lay-offs). The goal is to get back into school so I can do something I actually like.

I'm a professional piercer by day and a security consultant by night.

I sleep during the day and am a Computer Support Specialist for the Utah Capitol building at night.

Well i was at USG they make drywall ! Now i work for a company that makes parts for ford ----- USG please call me back ! ----- Ok i need you all to start buying homes again please :rolleye2:

Right now I work with Skunkworks making sure U2s are ready to fly ISR missions over Korea.

Next month it will be back to working on F15s and shortly there after I will be moving over to the F22 program.

I thought Obama canceled the F22 program? I heard that on the news the other night, but I hope it is not true.

I am medically retired from the Army, but I was an Infantryman for 14 years, till I got hurt. Now I just tend to my snakes and take care of my family and catch up on all the lost time I have had with them.

I'm a Correctional Officer. Fun job, and never a dull day.

I'm a buyer for a large point of sale solution company that caters to hospitality (Chick-fil-a, Krystal, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts, California Pizza Kitchen, etc), movie theatres (AMC), retail (smaller retailers who have 5-10 sites), convenience stores (Wa-Wa, Sheetz, Shell Canada, BP Malaysia, etc) and stadiums (NY Yankees, KC Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, etc), both domestically and internationally.

Dude,..pic one. Right now I'm on Active Duty (Army Reserve) in Germany as a Food Inspector. When I'm back home I'm a Surgical Tech (per diem @ a Plastic Surgery Center) and a Receptionist at a Vet Hospital. On top of that I still get paid for my Reserve status (Surgical Tech/ Food Inspector, I can be activated for either one of those) once a month.

I work the guard house at Kohls.com, which is where I do most of my studying for college. I am going to complete my associates degree in less then two months, and then start my my bachelors right after. My major is computer programming.

They're busy branching out to Europe and Asia right now - when they get done with that, I'll be sure to propose Utah to them! :P

Im a security officer in a nuclear power plant. The hours could be better but the pay and benefits can't be beat. Plus my job is recession proof and that’s the biggest plus in this economy.:cool:

I am a stay at home mom for now. I am looking to become a certified nursing assistant in the very near future. I love taking care of others.

I am in the IT field. I can not narrow it down to just one area we pretty much need to know something about everything. We have big data rooms and customers pay to store their equipment here. Most of them opt for us to manage the equipment. Which pretty much means if something goes wrongs wrong we need to fix the problem and fast. The problem could lye on the server end the network end anywhere. Then we have new customers that sign contracts and we need to handle these implementations. Which means conference calls with the customers just to touch base and see where things are and most of these are on my days off so I need to work from home. I only get paid for 40hours a week and I am always over. I work 13 hour days. Thursday - Saturday and every other Wednesday.

My fiance is a Nurse Practitioner at Hackensack University Medical Center. She works with the accute team and the rapid response team. She also works the same hours a week I do. It is cool we work the same days and have the same days off most of the time.

I own a pet sitting company.

I get to stay home all day and play with snakes. For the last 6 years Ive been lucky enough to do what i love from home every day. I;ve been able to spend countless more hours with my wife and son than most people get to and I'm eternally grateful for that.

My father was laid off from caterpillar after 33 years last October and together we are actually opening a non medical home care franchise in October (http://www.synergyhomecare.com/). Im really looking forward to yet another new adventure and the opportunity to really help people as well. We were inspired to open the company based on our experience with my grandparents. My grandfather has Alzheimer and my grandmother is diabetic and blind. Being Italians we care for our own and could never imagine putting them in a nursing home. Non medical in home care (basic house work, companionship, help with their meals and bathing allows them to live out their lives at home rather than a nursing facility. I'll still be doing snakes, just not as many and may not make it to the boards as much but will still be around as much as possible (you'll never get rid of me).

Me and my fiance both worked at a company called Columbus Serum Company it was a vet warehouse. Me and sarah both worked with the d.e.a to register and track all pedigree drugs across the country. Sadly we were bought out and shut down back in april and we have been unemployed since then. We both loved our jobs and loved everyone we worked with. It was a very nice place to work

Full time I'm an assembler for Lowe's, I'm getting started working part time in the family business, real estate. So if anyone wants to invest in some southern farmland, I'm your man

I am a currently unemployed Landscape Designer. Our company did some MAJOR downsizing last summer and is only doing commercial jobs now. Hoping to go back to school to get a degree in Landscape Architecture and become a certified L.A. I guess for now I can say I manage our Ball collection full time. :D Unemployment has its perks.

I work at ski resort and groom the ski trails at night and building terrain parks. Also work with snow guns. It just sucks that winter don't last year around, I am looking into some school in VT that offer ski resort management. That way I can work year around.

I'm a buyer for a manufacturing company. Not exciting but it pays the bills.:)

The F15 program is shutting down. E model F15s will still fly for some time, I am sure. The F22 budget was cut down, so we won't be getting as many as previously planned.

It's a fun assignment. Operational Security and Communication Security are certainly top on the list.

I am an Air Force 2A373 guy, or Tactical Aircraft Maintainer in layman's terms. I have 13.5 years of experience turning wrenches on F15s and this interesting 1 year of experience on the U2 Recon plane. It has been interesting and I have had some experiences that I will never forget. The majority of which most people will only ever see in movies.

TBH, I am seriously looking forward to having a "regular person job" in 5.5 years.

I am seriously jealous. Beyond snakes, aircraft (reading about them, learning about them, drawing them, getting my pilot's liscence, etc) are my hobby.

I manage the Quality Assurance Department for a company called Defender Direct. We are the #1 dealers of ADT Security Systems and Dish Network in the nation. I get to make sure that all the sales reps, CS reps, anyone that talks on the phone, is doing what they're supposed to be doing. Basically, I'm the most hated person here... but, I don't care. I love my team. Great group of people, and this company also seems to be pretty recession proof. We were at 12% profit last year and are looking at hitting over 15% this year... and we just picked up another business partner. Some good stuff. :gj:

I provide technical support for Account Software.

It isn't really what I like to do, but for the time being it pays the bills...

:rofl: I've been called worse.

It's actually for a bar/nightclub/event security company. I was a "bouncer" for 10-12 years and decided I had enough of that so now my job is to just go to new clients establishments and figure out how many staff they'll need, where the staff will be posted, trouble places in the establishment, etc. It's pretty simple, I'm basically paid to go bar to bar and mingle. :gj:

Well this is my job and its probably the hardest of them all! :P

Starting Sept 8th I wake up at 7:00am get ready for work (school) Go to school at 9:00am. While I am at work (school) I work on many things. (Math, science, english etc) Then I come home at 3:00pm. I do this job for 10 months of the year and every 3 months I get a 2 week break! Wooooooooo! After the 10 months of torture I get a 2 Month and I find it a very short Vaca I need a 5 month not 2. Then once the two months is done I repeat the job all over again. Lol!

I have a few friends that work at a power plant down towards San Diego and they are always trying to get me to go down but they only hire ex military or law enforcement well for the most part lol. But they love it they make 100k+ a year and get to carry assault rifles all day lol.

I am a Diesel technician (mechanic). I work for Cummins Diesel. I get to work on Yachts a majority of the time which is horrible access on boats is retarded lol. But Motorhomes are the worse. lol. Oh well it pays the bills........Barely. :(
