New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
Hey everyone, I'm new here. Anywho, funny story being I picked up this snake at the San Jose Reptile Expo this passed weekend, and immediately after looking up some Ball Python forums I stumbled upon a picture of him in the genetics section asking if he might be a combo due to his pretty unique look. I was totally thrilled, haha. Anywho, the day I brought him home I took some pictures (kind of poor lighting and you don't get the awesome blue in his eyes) that I thought I'd share with you. Any and all comments welcome! Anywho, thanks for looking, and I'm hoping to get to know you all, this board seems great!

Re: New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
Thanks guys--it's greatly appreciated! Hopefully we'll see some offspring next season! I'm going to pair him up with a reduced pattern normal with a really nice striped back! He has a great stripe going for him, so I'd love to throw some stripey Mojaves! Thanks again!
Cheers,
-Matt

Re: New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
Thanks some more guys! I asked him to show me his head and of course he complied, lol. Some people in the genetics forum were commenting on his light head markings and those kind of diffused head stripes. The lighting in this one is horrible, it was taken the night I had him with just his overhead light. I guess it's something a bit unusual? This picture actually makes them look a little more bold and pronounced than they look in normal light. Anywho, just thought I'd share while my thread was still floating around the top, haha. I appreciate the feed back though, it's awesome!

Nope not just you... I thought it was a Cinni out right till I read the post.

I'd say a Fire or a Pastel.. :D

Re: New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
P.S. I hope the poster of these pictures doesn't mind me using him, but here is a "normal" clutch mate of his. It looks very much like a Cinnamon to me, and to the poster in the genetics forum! I was kind of holding back hope on this being a double morph, but I can't help but get a bit excited now :D

Re: New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
So people in this forum see the cinny in it! And posting my pic of the sib is fine by me :P. If this really turns out to be a combo you got a STEAL. I saw you walking around with it and it is a niiiice snake. You have to give us updates on what it produces!

thats one way to intro urself!
nice mojo!!!

Re: New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
Thanks again!! Haha, and that's so weird that you saw me at the show with it--very surreal! Yeah at the price I got it for it was a steal even for a nice near-breedable Mojave, if it turns out to be a double morph I'd be totally stoked. I'm thinking of breeding him to a Normal with a nice vertebral stripe and a nice Pastel as well. It'll be so much fun waiting to see if I got something different! The possibilities of just a Pastel pairing makes me excited! Anywho, again, I really appreciate it everyone!
Cheers,

Re: New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
I see nothing going on there apart from mojave, from those pics anyway.
I CBA to find the other thread where this was discussed but were the people questioning the genetics people who work with mojave or not?
No disresect to any of the posters invovled, i've not seen the thread, but this forum is *very* good at seeing morphs where there aren't any (ie 'is this a fire/YB/cinnie' threads etc etc)
I only say this because often people get excited by older mojaves because they have only ever seen neonates and never grown on/adults and the colour change in mojaves (as with all of the BEL snakes) from neonate to adult is very pronounced.
A few more pictures would certainly be useful!

Re: New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
I'll get some more pictures of him up soon. Just for perspective, this is a ~350 gram, 2008 hatchie male. I don't take any offense to your comments though, it's mostly just something to get excited about proving (or disproving). The Cinny thoughts are coming from the faded eye stripes more than the color though I think--that and the fact that the siblings look like cinnamons. Anywho, either way I'm going to breed him out this season and see for myself! I'll be sure to share the results as well!
Cheers,

Re: New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
That Sib is a cinnamon imo. Also your Mojo looks alot like a cinnamon it may be a combo i would breed it to a pastel female and some normals.

Re: New Mojave (as inquired about in genetics section)
I love the response he's getting! I'll absolutely try and prove out the Cinnamon. I'm still anticipating it not being there, but I'm hoping it is and I'll be thinking about it all the way until his first clutch hatches! Thanks again everyone!
P.S. my girlfriend wanted me to say that she's the one who first spotted the snake :P Gotta give credit where it's due!
Cheers,
