**BP.net Fantasy Football**

Okay, there has been some interest in putting a fantasy football league together. I tried to put one together last year but did not have enough interest. I will try again.

Please sign up only if you anticipate playing...don't play one week and then not participate the rest of the season.

The first 9 people to respond in THIS thread will be the first 9 invited to play. Anyone after will be an alternate if someone happens to back out.

When you respond please include the email address that you would like the invite to be sent to. If you are not comfortable posting it here, just PM me it.

If 9 people show interest THEN I will set up the league.

The league will be thru ESPN.com. So you must register a username, this is free.

I will give this thread a few weeks. I will not start the league once the regular season starts.

AGAIN, first 9 to respond to THIS thread, will be the first 9 invited.

I will not host more than 10 players....

i've never done it before, but i do follow football real closely, so i would be down.

Same as Colin I know my football but I've never done fantasy.

I will probably set a live draft up on a Sunday afternoon since most people are home then, unless there is a weekday evening everyone can agree on. Just be sure you prerank your players or you can use the default prerank.

You do not have to be present to draft your team if you can not make it. You will be simply assigned the best player available on the board, so no worries. There are always trades and free agents. :)

Yeah I screwed up. :oops:

Meant to do 4pm Sunday the 23rd. Instead I did the 24th.

When you join the league, you can vote to switch the draft date.

If 5 more people click under "referenda" at the top of the league page and vote on the 23rd at 4pm it will get switched. If you select another date and time, it wont switch.

Sorry for the mix up.

i'm finally on board, just got back from vacation... let's draft!

anyone seen Knocked Up? i love that seen where they think they're catching the dude cheating, but there he is, in full Baltimore Orioles gear, in his live fantasy draft.

Draft is Sunday the 23rd I believe.

I'll be on my way home from Daytona when we draft...yall leave me some good draft picks. I may let the wife drive and break out the laptop if I can get a broadband signal. Good luck everyone.

I second that, i've never played in fantasy footall.

It is pretty straight forward. Everyone has a couple minutes to make there pick. I believe there is a chat area during the draft if I remember correctly.

I am pretty positive the draft order is random (I get confused between ESPN's and Yahoo's league settings). Whether you are first to draft or last, it is pretty fair how they do it. For example the first round picks go like

Round 1.
Team #1
Team #2
Team #3
.
.
Team #9
Team #10

Round 2
Team #10
Team #9
Team #8
.
.
Team #2
Team #1

...and so on.

So if you get the 1st pick in the draft...your next pick wont be until the end of the 2nd round at pick #20.

If you are the last to pick in the 1st round, you are the 1st to pick in the 2nd round. So you would have picks #10 and #11.

So I wouldn't really stress too much about getting the first pick. I usually end up dropping half of my teams or trading after the draft. It's all in fun.

yeah if everyone wanted to, we could pool $5 each and the winner gets $50...? doesn't matter to me, just a thought.

I don't think the money thing will work. One of the head Mods would have to comment on this. But I don't think you can bet/gamble on a site like this. They could get into some trouble. I could be completely wrong. But I may hold off on any bets until a Mod who knows about such a matter can comment.

Maybe we can put the money into a Gold Subscription to the winner, or reps for life, or acknowledgement in your signature. Just throwing things out there...

good point josh... i suppose consistency in these matters is the only way to go.

I'll propose to the admin staff and we'll discuss getting back to you about some sort of forum driven "prize".

That was good, I want to start another one for other additional players that didn't get to participate and to pick new picks as I made some mistakes. lol.

Been a while since I've been here but I have a private league started at nfl.com, draft is sun sept 6th 4:45pm LIVE DRAFT so far I have 2 players, I have 10 more spots open. I sent out other invites so 1st come 1st in. Send me an email briansutton29@yahoo.com and I will send you an invite and password. I'm able to play 3 leagues so I'm down to be in 3 leagues. I will update as people send me an email.

Neal, how confident are you in TO's bum toe and Roy Williams broken collar bone? :O


I have Tom Brady in another league with a $100 buy in. I thought I was going to have a heart attack when Albert Hayensworth took Brady out of the game. Pats say it is just a sore shoulder tho...hope that's it.

LOL. TO should do good. That toe should be healed up rather well. As far as the Williams situation, that totally sucks, but i'm glad that atleast the x-rays were negative. So it's just a sore shoulder. I'm playing in 4 leagues atm. My other teams have some sweet players since I didn't make the same mistakes picking as I did on my very first one. lol
