There is no Het for Pastel. Its either a Pastel or not. Do you have any pics?
Thats not to say that the father was not a pastele albino. Some of the babies will be pastel and some will be normal. All of them are het for albino.
If you bought a normal het for albino thats all it is.

If they told you that the father was "carrier" of the pastel gene i would assume that you have bought a normal ball. Pastel gene cannot be "carried", it will be visable. Does she have green eyes? But it could well be het albino. You cannot know the % of het unless you know the pairing it came from. As above pics would help to establish if it is pastel or not.

Normal x Normal = All Normal
Albino x Albino = All Albino

Albino x Normal = All Normal het Albino (100% het Albino)
Albino x 100% het Albino = 50/50 chance of getting Albino
50/50 chance of gettting 100% het Albino

100% het Albino x 100% het Albino = 25% chance of getting Albino
50% chance of getting het Albino
25% chance of getting a Normal
(which mean all the Normals are 66% het Albino)

100% het Albino x Normal = 50/50 chance getting, het albino & Normal.
(which mean all the Normals are 50% het Albino)
Not a wise way to go..IMHO

If the pet store did not give you papers for the genetics(the het albino part) then its just a normal.I hope you did not pay alot for it because they "said" the het stuff

Yea if its a boy then thats a normal range even if its really het for albino. Now do you understand the genetics on ball pythons in order to produce morphs?

Well then i guarentee you she is not het for albino as the price is way to low even for a possible het.Ok a short run down on genetics 101 :P.You need 2 100% hets for the same morph to be able to produce said morph.Male 100% het for albino x female 100% het for albino and the eggs will all each have a 25% chance at being albino. Now do not ever take someones word that said snake has the needed genetics unless you get pictured ID proving the genetics.I hope this helps explain things a bit.Its a nice looking snake by the way :gj:

You think the 100% het to a normal is worth less? Whys that? IMO if you got more time than money it is a very real way to get your morphs. I have 8 50% poss het for pied females from two clutchs last year. Even if I hit my odds and four of 'em prove too be het for pied... Well I think that easily pays for the cost of keeping and rasing them up. Just remember that ways the way most of the recessive morphs where proven out originally.
