Woohoo! Not a Snake Bite Virgin anymore !

I’ve had my BRB for about 2 Months now, I handle her every night for about a 1/2 hr because I am in a Herp Society here in Washington State that does educational outreaches and I really wanted to take her to a few, show her off and teach people about them. She is about 1 yr old, just over 2ft long and is a healthy eater, never been nippy or anything.

Well we had TWO outreaches this past weekend and on Sunday (the 2nd one), I guess my BRB had had enough of the Show & Tell stuff and told me in no uncertain circumstances did she want to ever do TWO outreaches again ... She tagged me BIG TIME ... Right on the Nose !

What’s good about all this? Well, I’ve been very nervous waiting for my first bite, and guess what? It wasn’t that bad, not really painful and didn’t hurt afterward, just kind of shocking because normally she is so docile and I wasn’t expecting it at all. Now I’m not so nervous about getting bit because I now know what it feels like and what to expect.

Lesson Learned .... Only 1 outreach per weekend.

It doesn't look that bad, but man did it bleed ! LOL

I just took her out of her tub and held her for a bit, I have to make sure she isn't gonna start being nippy. And I had to make sure I wasn't scared of her.

I've been bitten 5 times, most bites came from a mean King snake I once had. The odd thing was, 4 of the bites from my snakes where on my index fingers, two bites on one index finger. Only one bite was on the back of my hand.

Lol you have been tagged on the nose I have been tagged on the ear and the wound on your nose look just like he one I had on my ear!

Welcome to being bitten. I think it shocks people more then anything, as they really don't hurt, not until they get bigger.

i have only been bitten once by a ball python on my finger

Wow! I am still waiting and dreading the day I get my first bite from any of my snakes or herps for that manor. And it would be my luck that i'd too get it on the nose as I am always face to face with mine

I have never got bitten by any of my pets, but have been tagged by a KSB from a local pet store. I also had a BP strike at me like 4 times and miss, while I was holding it.

I guess I'm the only one that noticed. Were you in the doctor's office in that pic?

Nope, we were at a Vet Hospital doing an educational outreach in Lacey, WA. They had us set up in the exam rooms.
