attack attack,blessthefall, and a skylit drive are pretty good bands IMO. I don't really listen to much attack attack though, more of the other 2. blessthefall's new singer is pretty good, too bad he doesn't scream.

Yea attack attack has a new screamer the old one left for another band. Also if you like old blessthefall with craig singing and screaming you can check out escape the fate or his new band myspace band just search craig mabbit under music and it has some new songs he recorded when he was singing for the word alive right after he left btf

Im gonna take some heat for this, but some of these lists are driving me nuts. Scr-EMO is not metal or hardcore or what ever the hell you guys call it now. So stop posting it. Jesus. I will not name anyone in particular but you know who you are.

I think some of Disturbed's music has some metal in it, so I will go with Disturbed. They are my favorite band, in fact, I'm listening to "Indestructible" right now :]. Though, my fav song from them has to be "Ten Thousand Fists" or "Land of Confusion". Both are great songs though.

Metal sure has changed over the years though(not saying that stuff is metal).

Metal has changed alot over the years. Definitely all the 80s bands rock. I've mellowed out, so I don't listen to hard heavy metal anymore. My all time favorite is tool and Slipknot. Slipknot has changed their music alot, it's still good, and the lyrics are still awesome. IMO, no band can duplicate the sounds they had on their first album, and that first album always tends to be the best.

I have a life a rather good one to. Just saying if you are going to post on a metal thread then post metal bands not converted emo. Just because they play power chords with distortion and scream like little pansies doesnt make them anything close to metal. It just makes them pansies. Not if this was hardcore (which is what I believe this"MUSIC" is called) then I would say go ahead. But its not so post real metal.

Well most of these bands are probably like melodic metalcore, tech metal, death metal, 80s metal, and grunge. Furthermore a band that you think is metal might not be metal in someone else's opinion but then if they think it is metal, you can't change their mind. Metal in this time is usually with low tuned guitars, heavy bass, and double bass drums, with shrill vocals and deep growls. I couldn't agree more that original metal was not like that. But it is just like rap, back then when rap was new they wouldn't rap about doing the b words, popping champagne, busting a cap on someone, and making it rain. I ask you politely to keep your opinions to yourself please.

Everyone here is entitled to their opinion whether you agree with it or not. This is a public forum and as long as the posts are within the TOS there is nothing wrong.

I think every band I listed is metal imo. If they can scream there metal to me.

If screaming is your only criteria for metal then I feel sorry for you. My major one would be talent.

Most of the bands I listed are labeled as metal or metalcore in every magazine they are in. Now I Like those bands thats my taste in music I consider that metal. Now I also do not like bands like metallica. My father took me to a concert of theres when I was younger and ive hated them ever since thats just not my taste in music but I dont talk down to people who like them

Queensryche is not metal. Kidding....I love the Ryche! I saw them way back when they first toured with Metallica. The crowd tried booing them off the stage. I think I was one of the few who was diggin em at that show. Always been a huge fan.
