    Glass Reptiles Blog!
I decided to finally get a blog going. I have so much useless crap that runs through my head, I might as well share it with everyone! :D

The intention is that the blog will be mostly reptile related but I have trouble staying on topic, so....

    www.glassreptiles.com/blog

Let me know what you think! I know a few things about Wordpress so I did a little editing of a free theme. I am sure I'll do much more...

Congrats Jamie! I look forward to following it! Just one "critique" (or whine) from me! The white text on black background is tough for me to read. <end whine>

I hear ya..Any suggestions? I can't change the black background (or more accurately don't want to as it fits my "theme"). That leaves me with changing the font color slightly.

Thanks all! I always have random crap in my head so coming up with ideas shouldn't be hard. I am going to do some more editing of the template to make it look more like my site. Hopefully I can get it a little nicer :)

Hehe...I actually commented on your blog...and I NEVER do stuff like that! :P Looks really nice....but black backgrounds with bright text still screws with my eyes...so I probably won't get to spend as much time there as I otherwise would. :(

Thanks! I am looking at what I can do to make it a little easier to read...

I started to mess with the theme and change colors and font size. Some feedback would be awesome!

Gray text on the black background is WAY easier to read! Only one critique...the colored graphics you have behind them can make it hard to read where the text overlaps the colors. But definitely headed in the right direction, if you want to accommodate half-blind eyes like mine! :gj:

While I am in the process of designing a new site in WordPress, I decided to create an available section on my blog site and point www.glassreptiles.com to my blog site as well. My old site has become outdated and I would rather have everything in my blog then have a non updated "pretty" website. Let me know what you think!

Looks good man! Just out of curiosity, how did you do your available sections? Just a static page or did you get all fancy with post categories?

I can't give you all my secrets man!!

Seriously though, neither. I used the wp-ecommerce plugin. It works well even if you don't want to do a shopping cart. Nice image upload with automatic resizing to thumbnail and some other cool features!

I might have to check that out. I never looked into it too deep because I didn't think it would something as simple as what I wanted... I ended up doing a dirty php hack job using the categories and archives.

Definitely check it out. Takes about 5 mins to setup and works perfectly. :gj:
