New little guy to the family
Today I took in my Black & White Cali King snake to a reptile store and with the money I got from the King I put it to a Western Hognose and my mom paid the extra money I needed to get it with substrate and food (already have a 10 gallon enclosure, a hide, a water dish, thermometer, heat lamp, a climbing stick for climbing and basking on, and a fake plant at home). He's a tiny little guy, and pretty cute :]. I'll get pics probably on Tuesday, just to let him get used to his enclosure now and his surroundings. So excited that I got him today xD :snake:

Was that the same King that was sick?

Definitely not. I had two King snakes, the one that is sick is my Mexican Black that I currently have right now but the one I traded in is a Black & White Cali which is perfectly healthy and I've never had any problems with him. He's also been one of my best eaters.

are you sure its wise to be making another acquisition considering you just had a problem coming up with the money for a vet visit for your other snake?

Well, it actually will cost less to provide food and shelter for the new snake I purchased since it's pretty small and I will have no problem caring for it. I had money problems trying to make money for the visit, but my mom helped me out. My mom also helped me out with getting this new snake. She normally purchases the food items, and since she puts her money into getting those food items I have to do chores for her such as cleaning the house, doing dishes, laundry, and things such as that which seems like a pretty good deal to me. I don't really mind cleaning at all, I find it pretty simple.

Ya I did have some issues with that King who did not like me much lmao. He always struck at me. The guy at the reptile store held the King like it was nothing, and the King didn't ever go into striking position or shake his tail. I was like:O How did you do that?? I could never do that lmao. And I'm so glad you got those hets!! Can't wait until you breed em' I bet huh :]? Are they babies?

Are you serious? That snake can't even stand me lol. And people say snakes will never have anything personal against someone.. that I cannot believe ever since that snake started to strike and bite and giving me a hard time. When I was bagging him up, I quickly took him out and put him in the bag since he just hates me touching him lol. So, he didn't musk on you, strike at you, hiss at you, or do anything??

Re: New little guy to the family
Absolute puppy dog. Had to practically pry him off my hand to get him in the box. I don't know how to explain that lol, maybe you hurt his feelings once and king snakes hold a grudge?

That probably is it lol. I don't know what I could have said though to hurt his feelings.. maybe he just thinks of me as a bad person that the fact he bit me 3 times lol. When Jon was getting him out of the bag, he touched his neck and my King sort of made a fast movement like he was going to bite him but not really. After he did that Jon said, "He's a fiesty little guy." which is pretty much true, well, when I had him. I actually tamed him once, but then he bit me and I didn't really feel like handling him if I was going to get bit. But I guess with some handling here and there he will come around and turn into a good snake. He's also a very beautiful snake, he has such a nice white and black color on him that I haven't even seen with any another King like him:gj:.

Also, he's one of the best eaters I've ever had. He also has a pretty strong feeding response, so he will most likely take anything given. He was currently eating 1 small f/t mice a week, but you could probably go up in a size or feed him more cuz he looks like he could take it. Good luck with having him, he's a pretty cool snake actually. And also, I named him Bandit cuz he's banded all the way from head to tail;)
