Pumpkin Pieds! (for realz.. )

The story:

Last year I hatched 1.0 Yellowbelly Piebald that I called the Pumpkin Pied. About a month after that, a friend in Florida hatched three YB Pieds that looked better than a normal pied, but nothing like the one I hatched! Even the yb het sibs looked different than the ones from my clutch.

So I began to think that there may have been a third trait at work in my original Pumpkin Pied that was giving it that extra boost in orange and reducing the black outlining in the pattern

Repeating the exact same pairing this season, I believe that I've proved my theory! For now I'm called the third trait "Gene X"

The second pied (the one w/ the gene X) looks like a superstripe pied! :) Loving that combo! Congrats!

I wonder if this "X gene" has any connection to the graphite ivory, or ultra Ivory that Ben Siegel produced, perhaps they are the result of a pair breeding YB with the X gened. Just a thought.

Those are very nice justin, I dont know much at all, but your pieds along with that orange boost almost look as though they have a scale reduction, so smooth, i find that very interesting..........by scale reduction i mean similar to appearance of a scaleless corn.........

can i have some of those "Gene X".. sweet pied.
