Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
Neither...I like seasons.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
i like both, you get tired of the cold and then summers here. then you get tired of the heat and then winters here.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I like really cold weather

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
As much as I love snow and cold weather, I'd prefer a hot, humid climate. When I went to Houston in June, I was in heaven. Everytime I went outside, I was amazed at how hot and sticky it felt. I think the entire week I was there it was in the low 100s.

i live in Los Angeles and it's never warm enough for me here. I love it best when it's at least 90 degress. 70 is too cold for me. I'll still have my jacket on at 75. lol.

I already live in an area that for half the year it is cold and dry, thrn it becomes hot and dry for a brief time in the summer. We have occasional humid days but this is basically a dry place. I would prefer to live somewhere with less cold, 6 months of winter is to much, id prefer a place where the seasons are normal, 3 months of each season.

I chose cold and dry because you can layer up on clothes so you can get warmer but with hot you can't do anything about it except lower the thermostat(costing you money!)

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
Yep,
There's only so many layers of clothing you can remove before the neighbours club together and buy you a set of curtains.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
Neither, but if pressed I'll say cold and dry. But that's only because I am currently in Florida in late July and it's horrible! lol (but ask me in winter- and I'll say Florida is paradise)

Cold and wet.
i love Washington!

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
Cold and dry. You can always put more clothes on but if it's hot and humid you start running out of options once you are naked.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
Hot and Humid! I really hate the cold and really hate going outside when the temps are below 60F. Its the main reason we are moving to FL :D

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I live in a hot and dry place, so I'd rather live here. In the winter it does get cold and dry... but the only time it's ever humid is when it rains.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
technically where i live its both hot and humid in the sumer and cold and dry in the winter. i like actually having seasons

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I live in atlanta which is the definition of hot n humid. I love winter so i picked cold/dry.
-
Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I love dry, hot regions. Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada... But I would choose hot and humid over cold and dry. I hate Chicago winters.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I want to live in a climate that is 92 degrees and 70% humidity all the time!

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
no matter how you slice it, being hot sucks way more than being cold

that is so not true you adjust to the temps after a while but if you shiver you are using to much energy anyways i like swimming 6+ months in the year.... but that's just me :D

Yea but then you would spend more money on A/C because your are lowering the temperature which means your thermostat will have to keep restricting and allowing electricity to pass to maintain your set temp.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I like a cool, steady climate. I hate snow (or at least, the feet that we deal with here in western NY.) Thus, I am moving to Pacifica, CA; not very sunny; cool throughout the year without being cold enough for a bunch of snow. Perfecto! I get too lazy and exhausted in super-heat. And wintertime with lots of snow, just makes me want to hibernate.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I prefer cold and dry. I do not like the hot and humid weather at all.

It really goes both ways. If one designs a dwelling with sustainability being the main goal, ie. proper building orientation, insulation, and glazing, it is possible to maintain comfortable temperatures without having to run a HVAC system much at all. :)

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I live in a hot & humid area, while I don't like the humid part, I definately wouldn't want cold, Cold = Snow, Snow = Rust, also you can't drive a high hp car in the snow, and up north also has stricter emissions.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I like temperate and seasonal regions.
I LOVE warm dry regions, like the desert.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
I've lived in Florida so long I don't know what cold and dry feels like! Yes, we have to run the AC to be comfortable in the summer but we don't have to run the heat to stay warm in the winter, so that seems like a tradeoff to me.
I love not having to worry about snow and ice, but then I have to worry about afternoon thunderstorms (usually every afternoon in the summer from the two sea breezes colliding), lightning strikes (Central Fl is the lightning capital of the world) and the occasional hurricane. Of course with hurricanes, you know they're coming for days before they hit . . . not like tornados in the "alley" in northern Texas southern Oklahoma.
I would probably be just as uncomfortable in the north in the winter as someone from the north would be here in Orlando in August . . .

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?
Humid weather is digusting, and how anyone can like that is beyond me.
I hate when weather people on the news say it's and ugly day when its a cool overcast day, but say it's beautiful when there's 90F+ weather with like 80% humidity

Hot and humid Alabama for me, I hate everything about cold weather
