Re: Another one...who can't...
That's pretty wicked! Is there any possibility that some blip in the incubation process is causing the coloring to be wonky?
-
Re: Another one...who can't...
Paradox ivory?!?!
Sweet!!!

Re: Another one...who can't...
I had always wondered what exactly causes a paradox. Is it just another mutated gene just like the original gene in the first place?
But man, I'm not complaining or anything, and you shouldn't either! :D

It hasn't been proved out yet, but they are definitely working on it. It would be neat to see that on a pied, because the patterns on a regular pied are really different from a normal, and a paradox pied would have white, pied patterns, and normal patterns, that would be soo cool!

Do a forum search on the word "chimeraism". There are a couple posts that discuss this....

Re: Another one...who can't...
That is just too cool!
I can't wait to receive a clutch from my pair of YB. :gj:
-
Re: Another one...who can't...
Wow I'd say paradox Ivory, to even have that white and the dorasl I would assume ithas 2 sets of the YB gene, but I bet somewhere along development it just decided "you know what...I wanna be a Pied!...and so thats what you get on hatch day":O

Re: Another one...who can't...
That's amazing! To me it looks like a yellowbelly with ivory paradoxing? Is that even a word? Congrats on a crazy snake!
-
Re: Another one...who can't...
I would call it a keeper. For sure hold that girl back and breed her to a normal male. If all yb come out it's an ivory if you get yb and normal it's a yb. This is one I would of wished was male just to breed to multiple females.

Re: Another one...who can't...

Re: Another one...who can't...
My personal theory is that paradox animals are chimeras. It's the only thing that really makes sense to me.
A chimera is actually twins--they have fused and become a single embryo, and developed into a single snake that actually has patches of 2 different sets of DNA in it. So, is it a paradox yellowbelly or ivory? Sort of a moot question, as it's a yellowbelly AND an ivory. :)

Re: Another one...who can't...
That is super cool!
The only way to know for sure would be to see what the outcome of a breeding would be.

Re: Another one...who can't...
Wow that is a very cool hatchling, I would have to see hold that one back, and use the excuse that you need to prove out where it is Ivory or YB! lol. I would say Paradox Ivory for sure. :gj:
