Hardest snake to photograph???

So what snake do you think is the hardest to photograph? I believe the albino granite burms are horrible to photograph I have never been able to get a good shot of any of my albino granites. I also think albino retics are really hard. It always washes out the color.

Well, the hardest snakes to photograph are the ones that don't stop moving so you can't get a clear, nice shot of em'. My King snake NEVER sits in one spot. He's constantly on the move. My Corn snake is somewhat hard to photograph because he's always moving but sometimes will sit still for a minute. The easiest ones to photograph would be the BPs:gj:

Milksnakes. there pattern and speed make it hard.

Agreed that the ones that don't sit still are tough to photograph, for the life of me I can't get a good shot of my carpet python.

Any of your carpet's. Once out of the enclosure they do not stop moving. You need atleast 2 people to get a decent photo and even then your be lucky enough to be ready to take the picture when they do decide to stop.

Blue beauty snake. Moving all. the. time.

For the life of me I can't take ANY pictures of my colubrids! I think colubrids are the snakes that have the most energy. They are so curious and love to move around. Last night I let my 4 ft. King run around my carpet so he can explore. I kept an eye on him, and also was fixing up his enclosure. I didn't let him get away from my sight ;]

I definitely agree. Like I said, all colubrids are the the ones with the most energy. Milk snakes are almost impossible to photograph. I used to own one, and he never sat still. He just kept wanting to run around and what not. He was still very pretty though :]

Hypo burms-can't get their true colors no matter what I use.

I somewhat disagree, colubrids can be easy to photograph, the trick is to figure them out, find out what causes them to pause. For mine, its leaving them undisturbed in their tub until I am all set up and ready to take pics, then when I go to get them I try to make the transition from their tub to the white background as quick as possible. That lil method gives me about 30 sec. to a 1 minute to get a good photograph or two. Here are some I managed to get using this method.

From my experience, it varies from snake to snake on how difficult they are to photograph.

Yea, many of my Hondos are quite calm if you grab em quick while they're not paying attention. A few of the smaller ones are :taz: though and won't sit still for ANYTHING. I just got them though so it's just a matter of time before they mellow out.

I would definitely say the lavender and purple albino retics are the hardest in my experience, their true color almost never shows in a picture!

It depends... your crotalids are generally pretty easy but they can be a pain in the ass. Not as much as most colubrids, though.
