    Grade A Lessers
I made a thread a while back about lesser platinums being quality graded. My question now after searching through as many before and after pictures as I could... Is there any way to truly foresee what a lesser will look like once it looses its juvenile colors?

I really REALLY do not like the adult lessers that get a heavy green tint or lessers that brown out badly.
Having said that, is there any shade of colors I should stay away from?

I realize this is a fairly hard question to answer (at least I think it is...), but any help is VERY appreciated!!

Are you saying that butters are less likely to green or brown out as adults??

I think adult Lessers are ugly too. The only reason I bought this ol' skank is because I knew nobody else would buy him and give him a good home. :rolleye2:

Thank you Judy. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the unloved among God's creatures. :)

Man Ed.....you've got one of those ugly adult Lessers too?!?! I thought I was the only one gullible enough to spend good money on something like that.

As for unloading this ol' boy on you, that's more than I could ask of you. It's hard to have one of these (to quote Judy) "hideous" lookin' things in your collection, much less two! ;)

Just in case there's anybody out there who doesn't know I'm just kiddin' around, let me say....I'm just kiddin'.

Would both of you be willing to share baby pics of each of your lessers?? It'd be great to have another before and after picture!

Alright I'm back with another question...

As far as guesstimating the adult colors of a lesser, would you expect a lighter lesser to brown or green tint more? Or would expect a darker lesser to brown or green tint more?

Here's two different lessers (from Rusty's Balls)...

    Darker

    Lighter
    http://www.rustys-balls.com/assets/g...s/09-05-22.jpg

I think both of these animals are absolutely stunning, but what do you think each snake's adult colors would look like???

    GUESSTIMATES are very welcome! :)

For another comparison, here is a picture of our male lesser breeder:

And a picture of one of his male offspring that hatched out last month:

I love Butters and Lessers and have both! They are both amazingly beautiful! I might be more partial to the Butter though... :)

    Hi,

I think another problem might arise from those of us with less than stellar cameras. :P

I think my male lesser has a lot of yellow and green tint to him and went to grab you a picture showing it - and the camera produced this instead.

    http://satanswombat.googlepages.com/ElamSuperstar1.jpg

I can't even work out how to change the colour balance to get a closer representation.

Somehow I missed this, so I'll answer it now. I am big into selective breeding so for me I just think butters hold their yellow a little better. Don't get me wrong I have seen some nice lesser adults that I like, but for every one lesser I see, I see 4 or 5 butters. I think alot of people jumped on lessers and breed them to every female they had, to get as many as they could. This of course would result in some dark ugly lessers. Again I know people also did it with butters, but those in it for the money went for lessers because they were cheaper.

This is just my opinion of course.

Mitch, I'm in the same boat as Ed. I purchased the Lesser I posted the pic of as an adult so I don't have any pics of him as a baby. I have seen pics of some of his progeny produced by his previous owner and they were some of the nicest Lessers I've seen, brightly colored with lots of blushing.

Thanks Deborah. When this homely rascal wears out his welcome around here, I'll give you a call. We may have to sneak him by Ed though. :P
