Do your balls eat when they're blue? (Pre-shed)

I just had a scare the other day... my big normal girl hasn't refused a meal since her annual fast that ended in February... I was so disappointed the other day when she refused, but today she went blue, so, in all technical senses, the refuse doesn't count against her streak of no refusals! :banana:

Anyways, I'm just curious. Do the majority of your snakes eat before a shed?

I'm excited to see whether or not my blood does... somehow I think he will... :P

some eat regardless while some dont

But for real, none of my snakes eat when blue or in shed or even thinking about shedding.

I think mine are so conditioned for feeding every week, it doesn't matter to them if they are in full blue or any stage of shedding - they'll feed. It's rare that I have a refusal.

I like alot of people have snakes that will eat anything any time any where no questions asked. Then I have some that need a little soft light, some slow music, and no interruptions before they even think about eating.

Two types of snakes
1: The Chinese Buffet, any time any where as much as you can spare
2: The Teen Girl, You know they eat you just never see it cause they wait till no one is looking.

since i switched to asf's they always eat in blue. even when they seem to be completely blind. i usually hold the rat by the tail ( with my forceps) close to the but for better control. if i don't ,they tend to go crazy because they want it but cant find it long enough to catch them. then i hold in near its face in just the right spot and WHAM! when the snake strikes i let go. the rest is history.

Usually I don't offer food during shed. I just wait till they are finished and ready for a meal...

my normal doesn't strike and coil as aggressively, she just sniffs for it then bites it o_O.. takes her a litle bit longer to consume, but she gets the job done

My normal does this aswell with F/T food. However my friend had her Leo geck on her hand and she was close to the cage and my snake stuck at the gecko, so I'm thinking that she would react completely differently if she were introduced to live food.

Our little blue one ate today! :)

My big girl cleared up yesterday, I woke up this morning expecting a shed, but nope, maybe tonight... Anyways, she refused food a few days before she turned blue. Now I'm banging around the cage several times a day refilling the water bowl, misting, etc, to keep the humidity high, and she has been poking her head out from her hide, like she's expecting to be fed. :confused:

Has anybody else had a similar experience, where they won't eat while they're blue but they'll eat when they clear up?
