Breeder Axanthic females are definitely worth their weight.

And it looks like you got ripped off...

See alot of brown on her, plus some yellow. Axanthism is lack of yellow, which she definitely has.

Axanthic is lack of Yellow.... Compare your 'axanthic' to a normal, they will look similar.

Axanthics dont gain yellow as they get older, but they do brown out. They change from being silver and black to a brownish hue of silver, like in the 8ball picture.

    Re: axanthic female
I think if a reputable breeder sold you her as a axanthic and can proove she is a axanthic then there is no question. If not then your best bet is to get a male vpi axanthic or at least a 100% het and breed them and if you get axanthic babies then you have proven her a axanthic.Of course with a 100 % het male you could still get axanthics if she is a het. Only another axanthic bred to her will proove she is axanthic since you would only get axanthic babies.

What line? axanthics all have their own line where they are not compatible with each other.

VPI, TSK, and Joliff and recently a few wild caught lines, but AFAIK none are compatible with each other.

And for reference here is a picture from the other axanthic thread in here right now, its in Eds post. Its a comparison between a normal and the axanthic and you can definitely notice the lack of yellow.

well your snow project only delayed a year or 2 until can prove out axanthic. I tell you now if you got an axanthic really cheap you got lucky. I also ask the person you got her from if there was any paper work for her that proves she axanthic in writting.

Go for it man, the pictures you posted do differ a bit from the "VPI Axanthic" query posted by a previous user.

Anyway good luck with your snake, regardless it is nice.

She could very well be a browned out axanthic, which they tend to do as they age. Breed her, either to a het male or a male axanthic, and hope to prove her out.

My het female was $300 for 300g, and breeder size Axanthics generally go for their weight if not a little more.

If you prove her out and she was cheaper than average congrats!

Actually she looks axanthic to me too, which is one of the reasons that axanthic is not my favorite morph. Many adults really do look very close to normal. However, they do make some very nice combinations.

i agree but for what i paid i couldnt say no to her the owner owns boas and he got her from a ball python breeder who went bankrupt and he tells me he has a vpi axanthic that he think looks like a normal and he gave me a price since he thought it was a normal so i payed a normal price for her but the girl is one of my favs you look at her head and just see no other pigment i love it
