Anybody have pics with there bp on there neck?
Not wrapped. Ive been looking for pics just to see how big they look when a owner is walking around with there ball, but i hardly see any. Any pics?
Re: Anybody have pics with there bp on there neck?
Alot of people have the opinion that having a ball around your neck is a bad thing, so maybe some people don't post pics of it or just don't do it.
Re: Anybody have pics with there bp on there neck?

... I thought that was only with huge snakes. Because they could choke you. Thats the only reason ive ever heard of.

You can put them arond your shoulders but you shouldn't allow them to make a complete loop around your neck. They can squeeze pretty hard. Its just a precaution really.

yeah it is because they could choke you. I think. I don't want to speak for people. There was a post recently with a snake around a girls neck and that's the first time I saw people with strong feelings about it... I think it just depends on the person though. And possibly the snake o.O

This particular Ball eats every week on wednesdays without skipping (unless in shed) i feed her one medium F/T rat and one or two (depends on how hungry she is) F/T LG Mice. For some reason she almost never goes for 2 med rats but always takes at least one additional mouse.

If you're trying to compare size with age, you will not get consistent results. :) All snakes grow at different rates and in different ways. A year old snake could be very short and thick, looking 'older', or very long and thinner. Length and visible size are not good indicators of age.
Heck, even weight can vary within age groups! The only way to really know a snake's age is to know when it hatched. :D
But, if you're just wanting to see the different sizes of BPs compared to their humans, it's better to see them being held in the hands. Placing any ground dwelling constrictor around your neck is a risk, since they will want to 'hold on tight' to avoid falling. :)

Yeah, even little Toby has made me light-headed once or twice! :rolleye2: I will put Mona (the big girl) around my neck briefly, but only if I have control over her head or tail.
The little guy around my neck...

And my roommate with her... not really "on the neck," but close enough. ;)

As long as you have control over one end, it's usually okay... but the second I notice them starting to squeeze or curl around, I'll usually tap their nose (makes them back up) or lift them off. I didn't act fast enough once with Mona, and seriously almost passed out! :weirdface Just gotta be careful, and remain in control - which goes for dealing with any animal, really.
P.S. I've also noticed it helps to offer a "branch" before they choose your neck... I usually let Toby curl his tail around my finger, and that's enough to keep him feeling stable.
Re: Anybody have pics with there bp on there neck?
The only concerns about keeping a ball around your neck don't involve strangulation except for younger children when it would just be trying to hold on.
Most bites that are on the face are cases from the snake being around the owners neck. It's hard for the snakes to hold on and they may feel like they are falling or slipping at some point. You also can't control and see them as easily so a bite is more possible.
They're not climbing snakes, but really theres nothing wrong with it if you're careful. :]

My BPs aren't adults, but my avatar has my juvenile female BP (Candice) wrapped around my neck. Her head isn't showing though.. just barely.. I guess she's camera shy:P:)
