    ok so im making a rack, holding 4 28q and i was wondering what is the size flex watt i should be useing?

    It depends if you are using belly heat or back heat. I use 4" flexwatt for belly heat.

    yeah im using belly heat, and the tubs are going in stright not side ways.

    3" to 4" for belly heat is what we use for our collection.

    I know some people use them and are happy with them however I have heard that an on off type stat will burn out your flexwatt quicker than a helix. There are people on both sides so I would say you are safe with them We use Helix because we like the control it gives and they are high quality

    You might as well just go with a herpstat or other proportional t-stat. Only about $30 difference. If you want to save $20 you could go with the johnson and a rheostat for safety incase it fails and to not let the flexwatt ever have full power applied. I've read that helps, though not as much as a proportional t-stat.

    The herpstat has, I believe, a failsafe incase of failure. Although I've heard if the temp probe come unplugged it goes to full power. So you may want a rheostat reguardless.

    4 in flex will work fine. I have several of the Ranco ETC-111000s that I use and I am very pleased with them.

    say if i got a herpstat, if i want to build more racks, could i just hook it up for muilpyiple racks?
