Does this look like a lesser platty to you?
So I'm browsing Craig's List and this ad for a lesser platty catches my eye. Out of curiosity, I e-mailed the person posting the ad to see where it came from etc. She says she paid $600.00 for it at a pet store. The pics are way blurry and she says it's the best she can do. Maybe someone with a better trained eye can confirm if this is an actual lesser platty or not? I'm very skeptical, but ya never know.

    Thanks!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. Either that or she's trying to scam those unknowledgeable in ball python morphs.

That would definitely be a normal BP. Lesser platty looks way prettier and have sort of a different pattern, but not a lot different than a normal BP.

That is an awesome example of a lesser!
I would totally get that, you know, if I had the money and space.

Thanks for all the replies. Like I said, I was very skeptical and thought it was a normal. I just thought I'd check, in case I missed something.

Although, I do dig the striping and think he/she would go nice with one of my pastels. :)

    Thanks everyone!

wow, some people make me laugh.

you would think if you were willing to fork over $600 for a morph you would at least know enough to tell the difference between a obvious morph like a lesser and a normal. :colbert:

There's been a "double het for bumblebee" on the Boston Craigslist for a little while now ... As with your "lesser," the seller claims that she purchased it as such, for $200 -- although she has yet to change her dishonest add after having been corrected by numerous people ...

You can find nice snakes on Craiglist, but there are a lot of scams and duds to sift through, as well.

Well, I apparently opened a can of worms with this one! I e-mailed her back last night and politely told her that my suspicions had been confirmed and she had a normal. WIth some nice striping, by the way. I sent her some pics of what a lesser platty would look like and thought that would be the end of it. Now she's e-mailing me back saying the ball was a Christmas present, it still cost $600.00, and when she looked at pictures her ball looked just like a lesser platty. I'm starting to think she may have a low grade pastel that's just not showing up because of the bad pics. Or she's still trying to scam people that are unknowledgeable in ball morphs. Well, whatever it is, her e-mail is going on the block list! :P
