    The very hardest kind of good-bye...
    Since several of you here knew & loved him as much as we did...

    After 14 years of awesome antics, entertaining multitudes of people, TV appearances & being loved immensely by everyone here @ NERD, we bid a heartbroken farewell to our friend Poseidon.

    Thanks big guy, for all the joy you brought us in the time we had with you. Thank you for all the lives you touched, for all the people to whom you gave a greater appreciation of all living things, just by interacting with you.

    Here's Poseidon on the Today Show with Bindi & Terri Irwin just a couple of months ago.

    To say we're all crushed would be a big understatement right now. :tears:

    Godspeed, old friend.

    Kara and Kevin, as you know, I was so heartbroken for both of you yesterday when you shared the news with me, and I will continue to send loving prayers your way, while you move through the process of grieving your dear friend P.

    Here's a few pictures from Judy and my NERD trip to see you guys! He really was a gentle giant!

    Kara im so sorry for the loss. He was a gorgeous animal. And he was lucky to live to 14. Not to many people with salvators can say they kept a water monitor healthy for 14 years. Looks like he had a great life! And im sure hes chilling in monitor heaven with steve irwin right now.

    Kara as I said it saddens me to hear of the loss. here are a couple pics from one of our visits. I wish I could find the pics of him at my sons birthday party when the kids were all playing with him and his pics from the N.E. Aquarium but those were lost in a computer crash. R.I.P. Poseiden

    Having owned and cared for a giant V. salvator myself for over 10 years, I know the pain you are going through having lost your friend. Trying to convince people of their intelligence/personalities is obviously not required for you guys, I know you will never forget him, as I have never forgotten my Boris.

    Sorry for your loss. Its always hard when you lose a large pet like that.
    Especially one that is that tame. :(

    The trick to getting over a loss of a pet is to get another as quick as possible.
    If you need a giant monitor i might be able to find you one.

    :tears::tears::tears:

    Big Gunns just found this thread Kara. Big Gunns is very sorry to hear this. BG has been MIA lately so this is the first he heard of this. Kinda coincidentally MIA(top secret). BG was in Chicago though....where were you guys? :rage::taz: People that know Big Gunns best know that Water Monitors are his favorite reptile. Big Gunns has some monsters himself and he knows exactly how he will feel when their time comes. It will not be a happy day for Big Gunns.

    RIP big fellah.:tears::tears::tears:
