what happened to tv?
i remember less than 5 years ago i could watch national geo, or animal planet or even discovery channel and see shows about :snake: but now i never see them on besides that girly brady barr, i liked to watch jeff corwin, and i know that i would never see steve irwin again, R.I.P.:please: but what happened to all the good snake handlers, bp.net should have their own snake show :P! but i miss seeing those types of shows and its all now about saving whales?

Most TV is crap now IMHO...
Whale Wars isn't bad. However, I'm really not into people like Brady Barr and Bear Grylls. More Jeff Corwin please.

On the contrary I think there is so much good TV that I have trouble keeping up! Lots of good shows with great actresses and actors, great stories, and so forth.
But I agree that the lack of cool herpetology shows is annoying. Though with shows like Planet Earth, at least there are still some awesome nature shows.

Re: what happened to tv?
Discovery, animal planet, and the history channel have all gone downhill. They must think we all want to watch crab fishing, logging, ice-road trucking, and whale warring. Not me, sir. I liked the good ole days where you could actually learn something from the learning channel, but their knowledge is now limited to what John and Kate are doing.
Reality shows are crap. I don't care about reality, I've got my own to worry about. I want to be entertained.

Re: what happened to tv?
I'm still waiting for this to come to the U.S.!! David Attenborough (the guy who did Planet Earth and Blue Planet) in an all-reptiles series!

Re: what happened to tv?
Ya I really miss watching those tv shows. I really wish they had more things about reptiles. They are rarely ever on, and of they are they replay the show that was made a few years ago. Last night on Animal Planet I watched Weird True & Freaky and they had something on snake behaviors and Austin Stevens was on, but I've seen that 5 times now.

He has an accent? :P :P :P
He has been inspiring me to learn and love nature since I was a child.
If I was forced to choose only one persons nature programming for the rest of my life I would choose David Attenborough in a heartbeat and never regret it for an instant if I lived to be 100.
